    Not sure yet.

    2015 Buick Grand National under its hood will certainly have a great motor eith great performance and good quality. The first to be able to take these epithets is 2.0 liter 4-cylinder engine that will develop the power of 272Hp and torque of 260lb/ft. Second on the list is a little stronger 3.6-liter V6 engine and will produce power by a whopping 400HP. It is noted that this is the last traction, but there are indications that the transfer could be on all four wheels. Of course this is only optional. Transmission could be 8 speed manual or automatic.

    8 speed manual? Seems like overkill.

    400 hp from a v6 is pretty impressive, assume it's not turbo boosted. Twin turbos would make it a killer. Buick has definitely upped it's game as of late.

    4 Cylinder is 260 HP Turbo charged.

    Two Turbo's are not ness. better. One big one is usually plenty. The only time two would be good is in larger model engines, where one turbo is smaller and helps spool up the bigger one.

    I just worry with a 4 or 6 cylinder struggling with turbo lag. Hope they have that handled so its not lagging some off the line. Could be a beast if they have that dialed in.

    Also, several days ago we were going to have a lawn mowers and chainsaws talking day. What happened to that?

    The Old Grand National has ZERO turbo lag. That is still one of my favorite cars of all time. 10 PSI boost on the 85 i think? Ran a quarter mile in only .4 slower than a Vette with a V8

    Yea the Regal Turbo is real nice.


    Guy i met over the weekend (my wife and his wife work together) drives a Regal Turbo. Very nice and plenty of power.

    Two Turbo's are not ness. better. One big one is usually plenty. The only time two would be good is in larger model engines, where one turbo is smaller and helps spool up the bigger one.
    I think the Ford Taurus SHO has that twin turbo set up, and seems pretty beastly @ 365 HP with an ecoboost engine.

    Buick Regal turbo looks like a fun car. Looked at it for my next ride, but the MPG is awfully low for a commuter car.

    The Ecoboost is pretty nice, but a twin turbo just means even more work if something happens to the engine.

    A single is mucho easier to work on. And Ford HAD to do that with SHO in order to the Eco-Boost, there was no way they were going to squeeze that much HP out of a 4 cylinder without having 2 turbos, and the moment you go up to a 6 cyclinder and a single turbo, it can't be an "eco-boost", unless of course its in the F-150.

    Well it's an eco boost v6 with twin turbos on the earlier models I believe. Looks like the new one just went down to one, unless I misread.

    You're right, it is a V-6. 3.5 twin turbo. Personally, I wouldn't go for that. The Eco-Boost IMO that is the best is the 4 cylinder. If I'm getting a V-6, I want a single big turbo. And then you are going with a V8 engine (any make/model) a supercharger is best (more air).



    Hence, the Buick GN having 400 HP out of a single Turbo V6.
