Here's a 40$ belt that will you adequate support, if you can't afford to spend 40$ on a belt, maybe you shouldn't get one.

When he asked for recommendations on a "cheap" belt I don't think he was literally asking for a POS belt. He was asking for an inexpensive belt that will get the job done while lifting moderate weight. Fish offered advice and has admitted he isn't a belt guru. You don't have to be a guru on a topic to offer friendly advice.
This might come as a shock to you, but it is indeed possible to offer GOOD advice without acting like a fukking dik and assuming everyone should know as much about belts as you do after being active on the forum for 6 years. The problem isn't your advice it's the way you come off like a know it all piece of chit when people are asking for help. Why would they/me ask about belts if they already knew what makes belts good?** Patriots Crew **

I've been following the thread for like 10 volumes and have seen links posted but never an explanation of what makes a good belt or what makes a bad belt. The link you provided is great for that. Why not just offer that resource like a bro and not decide what people should and shouldn't know?

The article claimed 1 in 10 million odds. Seems like they just made that number up, but people win the lotto all the time.
Who knows but I'm sure as hell interested in finding out. The govt over there is just baffled. There's like 9 radars covering that straight. Also, was there a satellite in that area? Maybe not, but seems like there would be*LF Chat Crew

My squat isn't relevant. Red herring.
Wizard. I just checked your journal and saw that video...I couldn't help but notice that you are wearing one of those tapered belts I just blasted...and complained about lower back pain while squatting with said tapered belt. Interesting, no?
Also, I have posted a bunch of my squats ITT once or twice before, not that it's relevant. I've had a lot of things interfering with training, from good reasons to lame excuses, and am not particularly strong right now (tumor surgically removed from thigh, broken ankle, daughter born, busy with school/work, pure laziness/complacency, you name it). My last squat day, last Tuesday I think it was, was a topset of 305x7.
Here is an old 405x3
A deep front squat 275x3 no belt easy
I have a 425x1 video somewhere, and a front squat of either 325 or 335, I forget

How is my squat relevant then? LMAO.
I injured my back on a set of dead lifts a while back when I wasn't even wearing a belt, so that really has nothing to do with it.Log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=156377933&p=1122418643#post1122418643

When cutting, I've always gone the slow and steady route aiming for a daily deficient of around 500 cals. The past week I cut more aggressively, having days as low as 1000 cals. I've been training regularly in addition to a wide variety of other physical activities. What's surprised me most though is how easy it has been mentally. Usually on cuts, I'm fighting the urge to continue to eat when I hit my caloric targets every day. Anyone else experience this?

I have no idea lol. But you brought it up so I figured if mine was then yours must be too?
Yeah, I injured my back a while back too. Herniated lumbar disc (L5-S1) with nerve impingement, facet joint arthopathy, degenerative discs, whatever, haven't read MRI report in awhile. This was all before any of the videos I have posted.
That's one reason why I use a proper belt and not one of those tapered things.
But even so if I squat heavy enough frequently enough my unbelted strength goes up just fine, as witnessed by the RAW front squat video.
Belts = good
Belts that are the same thickness all the way around, that are leather and not thin and flimsy = better (for squats)
Generally speaking.

It happens in stretches for me. I can go 3 months killing it #easymode and then have 3 months where every day it is a battle mentally. I've been losing the battle mentally recently time to step **** up.
On a side not I would be careful going -1000 a day for a long period of time. Should be fine short term doe.
edit: thought you meant 1000 calorie deficit not 1000 cals a day. abandonthread.gif** Patriots Crew **
