Lolwat
Apart from a tiny minority, office jobs and their employees are beta as fukA young bull and an old bull were standing atop a hill looking at a bunch of heifers in a field below.
The young bull says "Let's run down this hill and fuk one of those heifers."
The old bull replies "No. Let's walk down there, and fuk them all."

Because I'll tell you I am? I'm a millwright, I'll teach the engineers how the machines run/operate.
People ITT act like all trades just swing hammers breaking rocks or putting in railroad rails.
People ITT saying you'll wear out your body early, while on a body building website, where people overload their bodies as a hobby.
Skilled trades hardly bust their asses, especially the smart ones, there are ways of making the job easier and machines for just about anything now to make the job easier.

Ive done both over the years. Started as a tradesman and am currently senior management on the business side of things. Skilled trades have earned my respect, no work gets done (and not a dollar gets earned) until somebody actually picks up a shovel, puts on a tool belt, or fires up the excavator.
It is easier to reach the relative peak earning potential in a trade position. That and some will be able to play their skills into a subcontractor role or startup their own company.
White collar and management level positions can 'top out' higher, but for every senior level management position making 6 figures with an equity position there are a dozen drones grinding it out under a fluorescent light in cubicle hell.------♥♥-----

funny thread. I work with guys with 4 year degrees that can't find their own ass with both hands. as is it goes both ways. there are smart and dumb people in all sectors. I have worked for many of both.
some of the smartest people I know never went to high school. they were never corrupted by the system and are very free thinkers.Yetti

Could care less what the misc thinks is alpha or not. You either enjoy your job or you don't. Some people enjoy office work, some people enjoy using your hands(not all tradesman do physical work). I have done both and they both have plus's and minuses, as long as you make a decent wage and don't dread going to work who cares.

White collars dont top out way higher. Whoever told you that needs to be slapped. Its most likely your college professor telling you that because they are clueless aswell and youre giving them thousands upon thousands of dollars to sit there and have them tell you a bunch of crap so they are going to tell you everything you want to hear in order to keep you there. Youre most likely to work under someone the rest of your life. Thats your ceiling.
Tradesmen can network, gain partnerships, branch out and create their own business. Youll have your own staff and empire and live VERY good. There is no ceiling for tradesmen. Your motivation and determination is your ceiling. While 95% of white collar workers have to put on a happy face for their supervisors and kiss ass all day because youre so replaceable, Its not even funny.I like the tuna here.

Pretty sure the comparison is in the scenario that both workers (white collar and blue collar) are working FOR someone. Obviously the possibility to start your own business and have a higher income than being an employee is there for both workers. But in the scenario that both workers remain employees and not business owners, the white collar worker will generally have a higher ceiling.

Considering a white collar working creating his own business would be 100x harder than a tradesmen creating his own business using their own respective services, Most white collar workers are STUCK for life being an employee. Thats the difference. A tradesmen is more likely to branch off. They stay an employee, gain networks and partnerships then when you feel like youre ready to move up, You hop on ship to a better paying and nicer job. You cant do that in a white collar world often because most of them are happy they have a job in the first place. Tradesmen bounce around all the time for better jobs.
Hell, I manage to run 2 side businesses on the side that bring in moderate income. I barely put any effort into it and i already have a partnership with another company that is bringing me more business.I like the tuna here.

Probably because most people in trades are essentially peasants getting screwed by the guys in the offices. Tradesmen break their back doing physical work while making chump change compared to big shot business men. Also the miscs notion that all tradesmen are making figures in their 20s couldnt be further from true, not to mention there's little chance to move up other than starting a business/becoming and independent contractor.

Oh look, Another clueless moron appears.
I LOVE how most white collar workers ITT are comparing themselves to "big shot business men" while putting down blue collars when 95% of you wont ever leave your cubicle in your life.
So many dreamers in the white collar world. I guess you do alot of that when youre staring at sceens all day waiting for each minute to pass.I like the tuna here.
