nope i wouldn't outright be like "you guys gotta leave i'm closing soon." instead i'd just say "Hey guys, i just wanna give you a heads up i'm closing in 15 minutes" and 90% of the time people would leave. never had an issue with people staying late.
people are crazy though, sometimes i had people asking to come in well after 10pm....like wtf store hours on the door. needless to say i hated interacting with most customers because they were rude (most not all). i get your position tho, i'd probably do the same

Signs on the wall with our closing time (10 PM) people know before they usually walk in the store, or as they walk in they usually see the signs hanging on the wall.
One of the worst things is web orders after we closed (which means its already paid for on their card) via their phone ( i guess there is a certain application for it), so you pretty much have to make the order. Or they order it while they are coming to the store (and select their pick up time) and go figure it will usually be after 10 p.m., so their order is paid for, not like you cannot give it to them.
I usually give a heads up to all customers the last 15 minutes before we close about 10 PM we close up, but if they are still eating and decide to dine in I am not going to kick them out. We can still close the line and the back of the store by dragging back things that need to be cleaned, but cant work on the dining room, putting up chairs, or mopping the floors until they leave (or putting on our own music)

All the complaints above is the exact reason why i already got a job in construction for this summer
13$ an hour, but fam and i need it. At least i wont be dealing with stuck up customers like some of you working, in sit down restuarants“I never lie to any man because I don’t fear anyone. The only time you lie is when you are afraid”

not sure if you've ever worked at a restaurant, but at the end of the day you just wanna go home after dealing with customers who argue with you about the price of a sandwich.
i get the business side of it and if i owned the restaurant i would care, but fact is i don't get paid for staying past 10. so if a customer is there taking his/her sweet time its just blatantly rude in my eyes

Obviously at a fast food place employees aren't going to care but at an actual restraunt you should be invested.
Never worked at a restaurant but worked retail. Had people call 5 min before closing wanting to come in. I stayed and took care of them and they contacted my boss about it. I was alone and could easily have said nope were closed. It's all about quality of service and taking pridePL Log

the mcdonalds near campus at u of i used to tell us the ice cream machine was broken if we came there after 10pm because the workers didn't want to stay later and have to clean the machine after their shift. a little transparent, but hey i'd probably do the same if i'd worked there.
we would usually end up going to steak & shake instead anyway, so it's a win-win

Lol you'd love me then... I used to lock the does and turn off the lights if customers were still in the store past closing (retail not restaurant)... I'd give them 5 minutes then i would verbally tell them we are closed and they need to hurryup and make their choice.

02-23-2014, 08:18 PM #1552- Your mindset influences your outcome. It's time to take out phrases like "I can't" or "I don't have time" and replace them with phrases like "I will make the time" and "I will keep working at it until I find a way that works." Success starts with the right mindset and believing in yourself and your dreams.

Got tons of feedback both on here and on FB about the recent video, lots of messages... it's honestly astounding to me how many guys/people in general struggle with EDs/body image problems..
