Based on whats listed I would say the M4 would be the best ride. I could see the Porsche and Corvettes being a little harsh for daily use.
Not a huge BMW fan myself, I was going to suggest maybe a C-series like a couple posts up?

I pushed him hard on the m6 last year. When e was down here visiting I took him to Scottsdale BMW to drive one. He liked it but couldn't get over the weighty feel. I don't blame him, I noticed it too. They are far heavier than they look and despite a really nice suspension, the body roll can't even compare to an m3.

Porsche
M4
Corvette
In that order for me. Does he like Audi? I would love the RS5. That interior to me is something i would love to have in a DD

I'd tell him to go test drive the 991 and see what he thinks. He will probably like the M4 too, but it would suck to wait 2 years for a car and not like it, he sounds real picky.. which it sounds like he can be. There doing that new targa top in the Porsche too which is pretty cool. I doubt he will like the Z06, it is pretty raw. You could look at Austins, Maseratis etc if he likes those.
Edit: new NSX? Same issue with the M4, long wait.Last edited by JDizleSwoleizle; 02-03-2014 at 11:17 AM.

Re: Audi years ago he was into the s4, but after doing some research and a friend of his who was plagued with severe electrical issues, he refuses to give any Audi a shot, including the r8.
Which is a shame because I think they have fixed most of those issues.

Spot on.
Expensive cars that look and feel tacky, been in one before (dads Aston Martin was being serviced, gave a new model Jaguar as replacement) and no joke it is one of the worst cars I've ever sat in and driven, felt like the cheapest car in the world.
Also, time for my input;
Would not get a Vette, because, in the end, it's just a Vette.
I would strongly consider the M4, it's packing some serious power and has the potential for even more power and grunt (ecu, etc.). Looks amazing also.
Would not get a Porsche because they all look the same, I look at Porsches and think "can't tell if good model or cheap model" and that's what most people say unless they know there Porsches.
How about the Mercedes SLS Gullwing?Last edited by mazaa; 02-03-2014 at 02:02 PM.

Vette:Great performance but I can't picture someone going from an M3 to this as a DD,quality wise it will not feel the same despite major improvements.
M4:Its a great car.Quality, performance, and that subtle, humble beast look.Yes the 6 inline is more powerful than the outgoing model, but its not as charming as a v8 BMW that sounds so hnnng. The M4 is probably not going to feel like an upgrade. The M4 is not purpose built sports car like the Vette,Its a modified chassis from a regular 4 series with great performance upgrades.
the 911 Turbo: Insane performance. To me 911 looks best with those hnng brakes on such a small car,but Its looks are subjective between the M4 and the 911.The 911 is actually a "backwards" m4.Its a Race car from the ground up tuned to accommodate DD quite well.
I say 911.Last edited by Iceman321; 02-03-2014 at 01:54 PM.

id pick the 911 turbo just because i have a hard on for them, that acceleration, that sound, that ass.
(btw its still a 911 the 991 is the body style. The last generation was 997 (2005?-2013) and 1999-2005 was the 996 body style)*Tfw No Gf But Don't Care Crew*

Please stay out of this forum with your utterly moronic posts. Get an m4 and mod it even tho OP stated that's not gonna happen. Great reading comprehension.
BRB, can't tell the difference between a cayman or a 911 or even variances in a model so not point in getting one. So you're essentially dismissing the entire range of cars because if people can't tell you drive the expensive model there's no point in driving it. That's great logic right there.
A Vette is just a vette, also great reasoning.
From everyone in this section plz GTFO and don't come back. Your unbearable stupidity isn't welcomed here.wait wut

RS5
Great interior, awesome performance, AWD..........can you ask for more in DD?
Very limited quantity in US and pretty much modern day classic car considering that this year's model will probably be the last v8. I read next year they are doing twin turbo v6 with 475hp......Tell him to get the V8, won't lose much value.
Also what is this.....2008? Audi doesn't have any more electrical problems.

there is no replacement...S65 V8 of peace and most likely the last of the natty aspirated M3's...and they come with 3 pedals unlike the Merc and Audi.
there are some really stupid suggestions itt
Why is the Corvette a good option? $65k, tried and proven V8, tons of parts - plentiful parts means cheaper, C7 outperforms a lot of supercars.
Edit: oups, missed the part where DD...scratch corvette suggestion.Last edited by BBLuder; 02-03-2014 at 05:07 PM.

Sounds like your dads very picky and is a BMW fanboy.
RS5/S5s were already mentioned. One of the jaguars' R division coupes? Likes BMW but rules out the M6.. He doesnt wana be associated with Bentley stigmas so hm...
911 >> M4 > RS5
I dont know if the E63 AMG Coupe is coming to America but this would look brilliant

Lamborghini has 0 racing pedigree, and as a Ferrari owner, he would not add one to the stable.
Besides this is about a daily driver, not super car options. If he elects to sell his 430 scud or even get another super car, I'll ask you guys for opinions again.
He's in discussion with his architect to break ground on a 5 car split level garage/man cave addition this spring as well, (9 bay's total) I'll post pics of the project and keep a log here for you guys.
I like to live vicariously through his love for cars. He's got a bigger budget than I.
I sent him the RS5, he said hell do a side by side comparison with the m4 and call me later.Redwings|Badgers|Packers
