alright here is the third issue
and ya'll need to let me know if I over-reacted on this one
valentines day
I reserved a hotel room
bought tickets to ballet
got a card I wrote heart felt things in
box of chocolates
for this person I have been seeing since november
ok back history
I have this coat I have been wearing for years now
carhart jacket given to me by my ex husband 8 years ago
still in good shape
happens to have a picture of the boat my ex husband work on
on back of it
man I am dating has mentioned its kinda like wearing a varsity football jacket
after breaking up with quarterback
honestly all I thought is its still in good shape
why fork out dough for new one
so guess what he bought me on valentine's day?
got a card with just his name signed on it
and a coat ...
I went ballistic

I can see your side. The reason I see his is because I was going to say (before I read he bought you a new one) that if he doesn't like the coat then he can replace it.
Maybe your actions convey that you haven't really moved on (in his eyes) and the coat is another reminder?
Congratulations on becoming a grandmother.POWERLIFTING TRAINING JOURNAL

Thinking of heading to Memphis May 15-17 for the World Championship Barbeque Contest. Part of Memphis in May. Saw it yesterday on Adam Richman's Fandamonium. Over 250 teams competing. Oh yeah... imagine all that awesome BBQ!! Who is coming with me???

Just another eating schedule that may or may not fit your life style. Nothing special at all.
I have done it multiple times, didn't notice much pros or cons except for the fact that it was convenient for my life style at the times i used it.
Congratulations!

I've been doing it for about 1.5 years now. Love it. If i could just eat better altogether i'd be a lot more cut then i am now. Its really more of a lifestyle change then anything. At least for me. The first 3 weeks i did IF i dropped like 20 lbs and just been maintaining ever since. Didn't lose any strength and now i eat just about whatever i want as long i stick to the basic principles and not go overboard.
If you are great at dieting to begin with i don't see any point in IF for you unless you just want to give it a try. It just helps me limit my calories as when i was doing 4-5 meals a day they always ended up being big meals instead of small.LOL @ people who follow politics

thanks on being a grandma I am excited
ugh..ya know I bounced this whole got me a coat fiasco off my 21 year old son
and logically I can see his side of this
but what pissed me off is if I wanted a new coat I would have bought one
now I offered the jacket to both my sons since it belongs to their dad
and my youngest son took it
not like I am still wearing my wedding ring...
I hocked that sucker a long time ago
our arguement kinda went like this
" I am my own person cot damn it all
capable of buying my own clothes
if I want a coat then I will buy one
the coat is not worn out and still usable
and I really never gave it a thought or gave a rat's azz
what it had printed on it...its my f*kin coat
you think I wanna go from having a ring on my finger he bought
and a coat he bought right into this ...now I gotta wear a coat you bought"
his response:
" I bought you the coat because I want you to be your own person
to finally step away from any remenents or reminders of your past
and to be you
I thought of you and that you would be wearing in around campus
and I did the best I could picking it out
buying clothing for a woman is tricky business
too big and you are in dog house
too small...same thing
I am not trying to put my stamp of belonging on you
did I buy you a coat with my name and business sewn on it??"

He sounds like a logical fellow.
I know that isn't what you want to hear but he sure sounds level headed and not at all possessive.
If you aren't ready for a relationship you aren't ready. Are you ready? You seem to balk at anything that goes into commited relationship territory. Men buy gifts to show affection. The fact that he went into the women's clothing section.....well that's brave right there.POWERLIFTING TRAINING JOURNAL

mmmmm....see had to fight hard for my freedom
from a controller
this makes me mmmmm overly sensitive at times
I think..
its what my son said too
"ma all he did was give you a present and you flew off handle"
I have thought about it and since apologized and said thank you
and yes I think there is merit in the possiblity that I was still
holding onto a little bit of my past and not sure yet if I was ready to let it go
even though I was the one who filed for divorce and walked away
am I ready for a committed relationship? sh*t who knows..
my oldest son reminded me that I hated that coat eight years ago
when my now ex husband gave it to me
and hated he expected me to where it anytime we went out
but that over the years I did it to keep him happy
and just got used to it
and that this man took the time to think about what you like
and what might make you happy
and did not give you something
with his name on it
marking his territory to wear around for all to see
thanks for input everyone
sometimes my first reaction is anger
not always the right oneLast edited by latebloomingmom; 02-24-2014 at 10:02 AM.

Well the question is what does the new coat look like? Frankly I can't take the suspense.

good that you realize these things...
I admire you. for many reasons...the biggest one being you had the balls to file and walk away. I'm not there yet. Scared to death that I can't make it on my own, scared to be MORE lonely than I am right now. scared to be a failure...so I commend you for being able to do something many can't. I do want out. I don't know how I'd survive.my attendance is unpredictable.
