    VTJIMMY's Muscletech CoreStack Log

    Firstly I'd like to thank Muscle Tech for the opportunity for logging. I received the core stack for the most part (missing a tub)



    I didn't get the flavors I picked and I'm missing one of the tubs but I guess I can't complain.

    Currently running a program similar to Layne's PHAT (Upper, Lower, Off, Push, Pull, Legs, Off) routine and 24 weeks out from my first bodybuilding competiton. Macros are at 300carbs,60fat,160 protein.

    I will be starting the log tomorrow. Currently weighing in approximately at 155 lb at 5'7.

    Day 1: 2014-01-25
    Morning weight: 156.2 lb
    2 caps of hydroxycut hardcore elite
    thoughts: was a little disappointed in the hydroxycut at the beginning because I felt like it didn't do much as an appetite supression but after I ate my first meal which was just a quest bar I was pleasantly surprised on how full I was.

    Had 2 scoops of phase 8 vanilla after my workout: I am not a big fan of vanilla (hence why I did not select vanilla) and have tried many many vanilla flavoured proteins in the past. The taste was ok to me, had 1 scoop with 1.5 cups of milk. Texture felt kind of chalky as well.

    Ending macros for the day: 302c/61f/160p

    I've had to adapt to worse...

    Getting to the bottom of a 10lb tub of banana protein. It's not THAT bad..but when it's the only one you have, you get sick of an artificial banana taste pretty quickly..

    Now that is rough. I could never do 10 lbs of banana with out mixing it up. Usually takes about 3 days for me with that flavor before I need to mix it with something else.

    Protein is more expensive in Canada, and shipping is expensive even with a b1g1.. so I usually buy when local supp stores have big sales - usually because the protein is near its best before date - so they tend to only have flavours that no one else wants lol

    I have always had a hard time choking down vanilla powders also. However, after I started to use almond milk instead of regular milk...it got much easier. You should pick some up and try it out.

    Day 2 & 3: Haven't been getting much sleep lately and the two servings of muscletech hydroxycut hardcore elite have been providing me with nice clean energy. I am pretty stim tolerant (up to 600mg a day) so I'm thinking be upping the dose to 2x a day soon. Macros have been consistent on 300c/60f/200p and weigh ins have been consistently 155-155.5 (which is where I want to be, goal is approximately 1 lb a week). Have been taking in 2 scoops of muscletech phase8 vanilla whey in the morning and 1 scoop at night with milk. Going to open up and try the chocolate tomorrow , cheers everyone.

    LOL! I have 6 lb of a banana flavoured protein from 3 years ago that I still haven't finished. Probably will finish it when expiration comes.

    2 caps of hydroxycut hardcore elite in the morning making my cardio go by really easy and fast! So far diets been solid and on point. Tried the muscle tech phase 8 chocolate post-workout 1 scoop with 1.5 cups of milk and it was delicious! One of the best tasting chocolate proteins i've ever had! Going to up the hydroxycut starting tomorrow on days I have cardio. 2 caps in the morning and 2 caps in the evening pre-workout.

    Sounds like a good plan. Yep one of the best things about phase8 is it tastes great in water or milk.

    Good plan on upping the dosage. Make sure you force yourself to eat when not hungry on the product. I sometimes have this issue when I use it.

    First day upping to 2 dosages. Felt great, the energy in the morning makes cardio go by so much easier. Still felt the same clean energy in the evening during my workout. Appetite supression is a little more obvious with the upped dosage. Training and diet have been on point. I weighed in around 154 this morning so I've already lost about 1-2 lb: i'm not crediting this weight loss to the hydroxycut but it has definitely made it easier

    Epic workout today. I can still feel consistent clean energy from the fat burner. Been doing 2 scoops in the morning and 2 scoops before bed. Getting used to the vanilla, but chocolate is definitely preferred flavor for me. Down about 2-3 lb since I started.

    I've heard a lot of people say they prefer the vanilla to chocolate, but I'm more of a chocolate person myself

    Been really busy lately with university. It's midterm seasons and i'm swamped with tests. Still being consistent with my macros and dosing hydroxycut hardcore elite twice a day which is definitely helping me keep focused and awake while studying. Been taking 5-6 scoops of the phase 8 chocolate or vanilla because it's the most convenient thing to do while being at school all the time. Weight is definitely dropping off... I might throw a progress picture in another 2-3 pounds. Cheers everyone

    you working with a coach for your prep? If not may not be a bad idea just to talk to one that has experience with contest prep just to get an idea.

    Been doing the same protocol using the hydroxycut (2 pills) once a day on non-cardio days and twice on cardio days (1 before in the morning to get me going). I think i'm on the right track I'll try and get a progress pic up tonight or something. Been using the phase 8 2-4 scoops a day depending on my macronutrient needs. Yesterday I decided to have some fun and add a scoop in making waffles (wanted to add more because it definitely would have created much more volume but I already hit most of my protein macronutrient needs before this!)



    I'm a believer in flexible dieting and have seen great result! And no, I don't eat poptarts all day and have phase 8 to fill in the gaps LOL! (although that wouldn't be too bad other than for satiety reasons)

    No coach. I agree, I've been lurking the contest prep section for well over a year now to get an idea but I know for sure that is no where near enough. I'm currently 23~ weeks out and the plan is if I feel like I am not where I should be at I will hire a coach at the 12-13 week1s out point! I've definitely seen some success on some individuals who have done their own contest prep (even on their first show). But I guess time will tell!
