Hi all,
First thank you MuscleTech and the reps here for the promo they ran to tackle the new year. I applied and chose to get the Core stack, comprised of 3 flavors of Phase8 protein, and Hydroxycut Hardcore Elite.
The thread is found here with the other stacks that they offer. http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showth...hp?t=159150251
The purpose of this thread and where it'll likely head will be rating the individualized flavors of the Phase8, incorporating them into cooking/meals in a few difference ways, and give feedback on the Hydroxycut and how I react to it.
I received a package last night.. opened it up to find..!
also....
Looking good.
This morning I prepared a shake for after my workout with the peanut butter chocolate flavor [on right] and took 2 capsules of hydroxycut on a pretty empty stomach this morning for the workout.
Actual workout:
5 rounds of:
6 Deadlift 135/6 Hang cleans 135 complex
Row 250M [averaging 54 seconds]
The flavor of the protein shake was great. I really think it'd be easy to incorporate into other food. We shall see soon enough..!
The energy from the Hydroxycut was actually pretty strong. Maybe it was partially because I hadn't eaten anything at that point [had a banana on the way to the gym], but it was pretty sweet and I was bouncing off the walls.
I have a solid leg day planned tomorrow, so that'll be the next update with my new thoughts!

Today was a upper body push day... bench/overhead press, dips, tricep extension, and shoulder raises. Nothing to write home about numbers wise for me.. didn't go higher than 225 on bench.
I tried just taking 1 capsule of the Hydroxycut Hardcore Elite, and it did give a little energy, but nothing like the other day. I think I will stick with 2-3 capsules spread throughout the day max to maximize fat loss.
I had a scoop of the vanilla Phase8 post workout. My goal/plan is to try all 3 in a protein shake to get a baseline flavor before trying to incorporate them into other foods. My primary thought of the vanilla was that it is very, almost milkshake like, thick. Taste is good, but thick. There was still plenty of residue left in the shaker, and took a bit longer to clean. Oh well, minor complaints there.
still in test mode here for the next few days with the powders.. then we hit the ground running! Any ideas already for things I could make... cookies, muffins, breads, etc would be appreciated too. I have some ideas, however would always appreciate more!NASM-CPT

I agree.. definitely potent so far!
I can only log what I have been sent brah. Not part of my stack.. hint hint I can always log if sent! ;]
I've tried both, and my preference is NanoVapor.. I didn't have a good few experiences with Neurocore. Glad you do though!NASM-CPT

Monday, January 27th
Weight: 187.6 lbs
Back Day
Had 2 capsules of HHE upon waking this morning to get the day going.. I liked how that was for me, and no issues with any of the ingredients or caffeine.
snatch:
bar warm-ups
95 lbs X 5
115 lbs X 4
135 X 3
145 X 3
165 X 2
165 X 1
185 X 0
I need to work on these!
Deadlift:
275 X 3 sets X 5 reps
325 X 3 sets X 3 reps
345 X 2
345 X 1
Deficit snatch grip deadlift:
185 X 3 sets X 10 reps
Rack pulls from above knees:
315 X 8
365 X 8
365 X 6
385 X 5
Row on Erg:
2000m in a little under 8 minutes
Run 2 miles at about a 8:30 pace.. Nothing special here, but need to run more for cardio.
I had my cookies and cream shake afterwards. Honestly, my least favorite flavor of the 3. The chocolate/peanut butter is definitely number 1, then vanilla at 2, and C&C at 3. Maybe cooking with them will shake that up, we will see.
starting this week forward I will be starting to mix them in beyond a standard shake. If I have time, I'd like to get fancier than a smoothie. Weekend will definitely be a time to experiment, but we will see what I can mix up this week!

Wednesday, January 29th
Leg cardio/circuit day
Weight: 188.2 lbs
Had my morning clients, a minor break where I could run 2 miles, then had to train a client, so gave me about 45 minutes between running and lifting.
I was still a little fatigued, so I kept the weight for the circuits a bit lower.
8 rounds:
6 squat @ 135
6 30 inch box jumps
10 kettlebell swings at 26 KG
straight leg deadlifts:
135 X 8
185 X 3 sets X 8 reps
single leg hip bridges on a 12 inch step
BW X 2 sets X 10 reps
I finished with Leg exts and calf raises [3 sets each], but I cannot remember the exact weight.
Then I got home, and decided to incorporate some protein powder into my breakfast.
Actually, the cookies and cream mixed in well, providing a protein boost. I used about 1/2 the scoop mixed in with the granola and skim milk, but it didn't compromise flavor at all.. I could taste the "cookie" part more. Good way to get the recovery protein and keep something taste good! I need to go back to the drawing board too to get some more creative options.

Yeah, sorry man about a lack of updates from this weekend. I've been crazy at work, and I've been having the 2 capsules of HHE each morning, and averaging 1 shake a day.
I'm still trying to figure out some creative ways to add the protein powder to other places that would add some value beyond just a protein shake. so far, I have added it to the cereal and greek yogurt with fruit before bed which was actually pretty good...
With the super bowl tonight, I've been helping cook for a get together, but nothing with protein powder.. haha I don't think my company would really enjoy it!
I will update again tomorrow night a bit more thoroughly.NASM-CPT
