Well the muslamics are a funny bunch, pushing their peaceful religion onto people that aren't interested in it by use of violence. In that specific example though to be honest even if the soldier had a gun it would have made no difference, he got hit by a car first which probably killed him, they then hacked his head off. A horrific crime, but not something that a gun would've helped as he didn't see the car coming anyway. I hope he died instantly when he was hit and didn't feel anything.

No other country would bother to invade the UK, I don't say this as an insult but it doesn't stand as an equal in world power, it doesn't play a vital role in the worlds economy like the US, and it's not sizable enough to provide immense resources.

If another country did decide to invade the UK the citizens have no way of defending, and you have to rely on what few guns you do have to save the day and realistically you'd be phoning the US offering promise of endless cock sucking if we send over the the military to protect your "safe" country. I haven't done anything wrong, nor would I. Why should I be distrusted and outlawed by default to have guns? The reason I own guns is 1. To defend myself, and 2. Sport shooting, neither is a reason for denying me ownership.

The argument that weak restrictions on gun laws allows guns to end up in the hands of criminals doesn't hold water. The war of drugs completely outlaws drugs (versus guns that are regulated/restricted/waiting periods/applications/permits etc), but that hasn't slowed the supply at all. Economics says that when something is made illegal a black market is created. Supply and demand still pertain, just changed by the additional forces upon it.

If I could be shown proof that no person with il intent could ever get a hold of a gun, I would never had paid money for guns. I'd rather spend my money on other things. But you can't uninvent something. And until we get to a society like Demolition Man where murders don't happen, people need the ability to defend themselves. The problem with american justice slash imprisonment system is that it is all privately funded and operated. Sorta like the federal reserve. We use to have blue seals on our bills equal to the amount of gold or silver I forget. Now we just print a piece of paper and is worth nothing but faith.

I'm not sure why everyone automatically assumes that if a country is invaded or attacked it's straight on nuke time. It's a big pill for a leader to swallow having to fire any nukes into another country knowing it's going to kill millions of innocent people (and we are the ones that are taught killing is okay? riiiightt) and is going to be the most restrained option used in warfare. You're comparing apples to oranges, nuclear warheads in this day and age are used to counterattack against a country that is using the same.
