    if he put on a decent amount of size up top, AND WASNT TRYING TO FLASH US ALL WITH HIS PANTS PULLED DOWN SO LOW, the appearance of his wide hips would be minimalized...of course genetics affects your physique...but you can change the appearance of certain aspects of your physique through your diet/training....like if you have genetically wide hips...that sucks...but build your back, chest, shoulders, etc and your waist will APPEAR smaller..

    His hips appear wide like that because he has an almost nonexistent adonis belt / obliques. They would fill in with adequate training.
    Lats and medial delts help add to the illusion of larger upper-body wideness.

    This has been said a lot, that working your obliques will fix the issue. Unfortunately, it does not fix the issue. A lot of people tried this and while they filled in a small amount, their hips became even wider (don't know the exact reason for this but it's not as easy as you make it sound).

    Also, you can have wide lats, delts, etc, but you will just end up having an hourglass figure because of the wide hip bones
