Governments are well known for being some of the most inefficient spenders imaginable. When it comes down to it, they simply do not give a sh|t because the billions of dollars they throw around on projects and programs is not even their money, it's ours. I've long lost track of the amount of times I've read news articles about the government throwing away literally hundreds of millions of tax payer dollars on retarded projects that are later scrapped because they were stupid as phuck to begin with.
