We can't and shouldn't outlaw people speaking about homosexuality but we can ask them to live kids out of it. In the United States the solution IMO lies within the general sentiments of the following article:
Hey, public schools: it’s time for a separation of sex and state - http://themattwalshblog.com/2014/01/...sex-and-state/
Conclusion of the article:
This subject belongs to parents. It is their domain. If they shirk their responsibility, then I feel sorry for their kids. Still, public schools are not surrogate mothers. Lazy, selfish parents might want them to be, but that doesn’t change anything.
So while progressives take the Ten Commandments and the crucifixes out of the schools, I’ll come in right behind them and clean out the condoms and the birth control brochures. And then we can meet in the parking lot and swap. I’ll take my religion home to my kids, and they can take their sexual permissiveness home to theirs.
Meanwhile, the schools can stick to the ABCs and 123s, and we’ll all be better for it.
Come on now don't do this to yourself. Taking one example and painting everyone else with it. No wonder a lot of homosexuals still live in fear in 2014.

Gays don't worry about turds like you because your kind is quickly dying off.
And why is it you turds only focus on GAY MEN and nothing mentioned about GAY WOMEN. It's so hilarious too see a 26 year old man get SO RUSTLED. It must be interesting to live in your world where murdering, ****philic, drug and sex crazed homosexual MEN (only guys are homosexual remember) are lurking behind every corner.

Which just proves most Americans aren't very smart. Gays don't equate with sexual permissiveness and the removal of the 10 Commandments. The 1st Amendment lead to that one.
Come on now don't do this to yourself. Taking one example and painting everyone else with it. No wonder a lot of homosexuals still live in fear in 2014.

I think you misunderstood the post. The article I cited basically said it would be best if the state didn't teach kids about sex but rather left it up to the parents. The author doesn't want the state to push what he sees as sexual permissiveness and whatever the morality is of the educators who set the curriculum. This isn't directed at homosexuals because most of the permissiveness being taught is about heterosexual relationships.
He was saying just as we have removed the ten commandments and crucifixes out of schools we should also remove condoms and birth control brochures. This is not equating the two but saying as we have done with one so should we do with the other. This does not mean we don't talk about sex at all but rather classes where that is the main focus just as we don't remove the discussion of religion and Christianity when it comes up in our history books.

Which state voted what down and since when is a state a country?
I'm not sure you understand what the term "majority" actually means.
