Is there any way to report a member for sending you inappropriate private messages? I've had numerous creepers send me messages asking for "nudes" etc. one guy complimented my back pose photo (I'm practicing for and NPC bikini comp), said I had a "sweet Ass" and requested that I send him more photos to his private email address. OH! And then asked what NPC stands for.
Seriously... It's a shame that some scummy internet creepers have to make me think twice about posting my progress photos. I legitimately need feedback from experienced bodybuilders and competitors! Anyway, any ladies have advice? Is blocking possible? Reporting?

Come on girl, you post that photo in your bodyspace and you are surprised?\
If you need genuine feedback, make a thread here and the experienced girls can respond. You can delete it after. Or, you can ask in person to a coach But if you are going to post your ass in a provocative photo on a website with 90% men (and of that, 90% under age 30), then... yeah.

I understand that the site is public. What I'm asking is if there's a way to block certain individuals from sending private messages. Also, is it realistic to say that by posting a photo in the female section of this forum, men won't respond in the same way? Genuinely, Thanks for the advice, and the next set of progress photos will be posted in the forum and then deleted.

If this was like a home remodeling or some other random site like that and OP posted pics of her bikini and got this response, then yeah, you got what you asked for. But this is a bodybuilding site, so it is natural to assume that her progress pics were meant to show her awesome transformation and progress. Under 30, male or not, that's bs in my opinion. OP, I would report if it bothers you, but, honestly, F em, creepers! Good luck in your competition!

Oh, men creep the women's forum. You should expect the same response no matter where you post half naked pictures on the internet. Creepers gon' creep.
To answer you original question, there should be a little red flag under the box that says bodyspace (under their info in the original message.) When you hover your mouse on it, it should say report post.
If you find the message offensive, report the message.

This seems kind of harsh. Yes, it's a public site, but it's also supposed to be a site dedicated to transforming your body and fitness. None of her photos are THAT provocative (I saw worse on the squat booty thread). I'd hate to say it, but you kinda sound like those people who say a girl got raped because she was wearing slutty clothing. :/
OP: just be sure that you have your privacy settings up and the creepers can't contact you outside of BB.com and report them. Great job on your transformation so far. It's truly motivating! It's not about being the best. It's about being better than you were yesterday.

I cant imagine Sonti being the kind of person who would blame a women and her choice of outfit for being raped. I'm a firm believer that women should be able to wear whatever they want, whenever they want. In real life, I do not dress modestly, but I understand that I can't control people's actions online. People usually have less of a filter online. I know that If I post a picture with a lot of skin that crude comments and messages will follow. It happens when you post half naked photos online, provocative or not.

Actually I believe the OP deleted the photo that Sonti was referring to almost immediately after Sonti posted that comment.
And I agree with Sonti on her comment. Not saying those type of comments from male users are acceptable, but they shouldn't be a shock considering the pic.Workout Log / Chat thread...Embrace the Dragon: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=169711903

She did. When I viewed her bodyspace to see what back pick she was referring to (I couldn't find any back pics) but in the preview section there was still a thumbnail of the pic temporarily there.
And yeah, based on what I could see from that thumbnail pic...it looked like a typical pic that belong more in the Squat Booty Sorority thread than the Back and Traps thread.Workout Log / Chat thread...Embrace the Dragon: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=169711903

OP this is a huge forum, so yes you can expect that among the many decent people there will also be plenty of creeps. It is pretty typical to receive creep msgs every time you upload new progress pics. I don't upload them any more, I put them on Photobucket and then if I want people to see them I'll place the link in my post.

I am in no way "shocked" by the responses I received. I was simply expressing my frustration with the situation and asking for a way to block or report specific people.
Again, I don't believe my photo was any more provocative than any other woman's back/glutes pose, aside from the fact that I was not wearing an expensive bedazzled competition suit. There was absolutely NOTHING else different. I removed it to avoid further frustration.
what frustrates me is that I believe I should be able to proudly post my progress photos...glutes, back, biceps...I've lost close to 90lbs, and I'm damn proud of my transformation. I suppose that since this was my first attempt at posting a back/glutes photo, I wasn't prepared for the scummy messages. Like I said, lesson learned.
next time, I'll spend $400 on a sparkly bathing suit and pay a photographer to take the photos to avoid the judgement.
Thanks to everyone who answered my question! I figured out a way to "ignore" messages from certain users!"I remember certain people trying to put negative thoughts in my mind. Trying to persuade me to slow down. But I had found the thing to which I wanted to devote my total energies and there was no stopping me." - Arnold

I'm competing at the NYC NPC Metropolitan on April 12th!
I see that you're a disabled vet?? Have you heard of the National veterans Wheelchair Games? If not, I highly suggest you look them up! I'm the Weightlifting event lead for the 2014 games being held at the PA convention center and we need volunteers! Even people to just come by and cheer on the athletes! let me know in a PM if you'd be interested in getting involved."I remember certain people trying to put negative thoughts in my mind. You'll receive the same nasty messages even if you're in a sparkly suit. It's the lack of clothing, and men with out filters. It has nothing to do with you being in a reg bikini vs a comp bikini.
You should be proud of your progress, and you should be able to post your pictures without the responses you got, but that just isn't how the internet works.

nvm...
what she said.
Do I blame rape victims for their clothing? No, I don't, I've spent 10 years in policing to know better than to do that. But I am going to tell girls to use their common sense - there is a world that you want it to be, and the world that it currently is. If you are going to do things that purposely put you in harm's way because you trust the world, then you are in for a rude shock.

I put proud navy wife in my sig so people know im married and i still get comments/messages. I just ignore most of them and go on.
many of these comments look like they are "copy and paste" and sent to girls over and over. lol!!!
I do appreciate the genuine and real comments though, so thank you to the nice guys who do have a filter and know how to talk to women like real people.www.bikinisandbiceps.com
