Just saw some guy with the Adipower struggling on 315 today, why would you spend so much money when at beginner strength? better shoes or clothing does not equate to stronger lifts..

True you should get the fundamentals right before buying equipment, but a good lifting shoe is a good lifting shoe.
Ive spent money on belts, shoes, knee wraps, wrist wraps, sleeves, supplements.
I also squat 661...Powerlifter at PTC Performance Training Centre
661 squat, 385 bench, 705 deadlift, 1752lb total.

To be honest OP, the gym is the biggest thing I have outside of work and its what I spend all day thinking about. So to go and buy new shoes or GASP clothing seems ok to me. Some people buy into the whole consumer aspect as well. ****ing everyone and their brother have a tee shirt company these days trying to sell you a DYEL tee or some Flag Nor Fail. But, back to my point when the gym is 100% your focus outside of work of course you're going to funnel some cash into your clothing and accessories.
I say fear me and fear death, too. You can’t keep me on the ground.
Made to suffer, but no longer; this is coming to an end.

what? you asked why people who aren't super strong would shell out bills for flashy gear. Then me, someone with flashy gear shows up and you call me stupid? lol no wonder you were red for a year...
anyway honestly op i bough the 200 dollar shoes cause i wanted too, i knew it would help in some way so i dropped bills. i bought a $70 belt for the same reason and i dropped $80 to have two tanks get shipped from england to new jersey simply so i can look at my self in the mirror and feel good about it...does that answer your question?**Florida Crew**

315 on what? Squat? Dead? Properly benching 315 even if it is a struggle is pretty good. That's not bad; probably more than what you're doing.
550/385/655, 285 overhead press, 330 push jerk, 250 weighted dip, 190 weighted pull-up, 413.8 max weighted pull-up, 450 front squat, 365 RFESS, 305 x 2 log press, 400 (per arm) farmer's carry, 370 atlas stone, 31 pull-ups at 247.

it really isn't strong unless you are sub 165..anyone can achieve it in 2 years or so, literally anyone who is healthy and isn't sub 100 pounds to start off. 1200 is where gym rats get separated from guys who dedicate and make scarifies for it, and 1500 is where you are the man.
