Lots of hate for bulking in this thrad. Reminds me of the time I got attacked by an angry ecto mob because I said I can bulk on 2.5k-3k cals...was negged all kinds of ways and called a liar lol. Apparently its possible to have a metabolism that's too fast to gain weight easily...but impossible to have a slow metabolism making it easy as hell to gain weight?

Not once have I compared myself to him. I just stated that there was a lot of hate towards bulking in his thread. He is an inspiration, and I strive to be at his level one day.
At any point have I denied being fat? No, I am fat, I still have shape and my chest is still bigger than my gut but I'm also getting strong as fck. I started at 160lbs dreaming to be over 200lbs, now I'm just seeing where I can go. It's called sacrifice to get to a target faster than lean bulking and taking 10+ years to where you want to be.2 inguinal hernia repairs and I'm still gonna make it.

I repped OP. I agree with him.
First off, Bostin Loyd is a ***got douche bag. With all the gear he talks about taking his legs and calves should be way bigger.
His upper body is way too big for his lower body. Also he wears those gay ass high top sneakers to cover up the lower skinnier part of his calves so it doesn't look even smaller than what it already is.

How long do you expect it to take to gain the 20lbs? If it's anything less than 40 weeks you are gaining too much fat, which will only have a minor benefit towards your strength. The majority of it will just be fat for the sake of being fat. Plus, you might gain muscle easier if you start bulking again leaner (if any exercise physiology brahs can confirm this, you have a better hormonal profile and nutrient partitioning the closer to 10% you are?).
And babyslayer is on awl kinds of gear, so if you aren't also, you are probably going about it the wrong way.

At least a couple of months. 40 weeks? Wow, where did you pluck that figure from? Do you know how everyone's body works and for sure that all of those 20lbs is going to be fat and nothing else? I think not. The fact that all my lifts have gone up by at least 30% would say otherwise (with even stricter form).
I'm not on any kind of gear and I don't intend to use any.
It would appear that most people ITT are afraid of bulking and losing their precious 6 packs. Been there done that got the t-shirt. Try it sometime, you might get stronger.2 inguinal hernia repairs and I'm still gonna make it.

My point is that you won't gain 1/2 a lb of muscle a week, let alone 1lb a week, so if it is anything under say 40 weeks, the vast majority of your gains will be fat tissue. Also, depending on how you train, you can get pretty damn strong without a lot of muscle hypertrophy through increases in neural efficiency alone, but I'm not suggesting that is what is happening with you.
Hey go for it man, more power to you. I dreamer bulked last year and got pretty strong. But honestly I could have gotten just as strong taking a more sensible approach to it in just the same time. The only thing I got apart from strength increases was stretch marks on my calves, ass, triceps and hips and now pairs of jeans that don't fit me any more lol

I haven't said anything about gaining 1lb a week of muscle. You seem to like creating figures and rates. Do you think I'm not aware that most of my gains are fat? Of course I know that, I'm going by my strength increase as a pointer for even remotely guessing how much muscle is going on. When that diminishes I will cut.
I am a believer of actions speak louder than words. I am trying to get stronger. I'm not going to do that worrying about how much I'm eating or how much fat I'm putting on. Cutting is ****ing easy compared to bulking. Over the past year of lifting (and slow bulking), I've drastically plateaued in all my lifts, since I started bulking big they've all gone up, and somehow, I don't think the fat has played a part in this.
Thanks for your input anyway2 inguinal hernia repairs and I'm still gonna make it.

Well I wasn't really creating figures and rates out of anywhere, I am going by what is generally accepted in scientific literature as to what is possible in terms of muscle increases for natural athletes over a given period of time. If you don't think the fat has played a part in your strength increases, and you know that you are gaining mostly fat, then why are you bulking so hard brah haha.
Anyway, best of luck with it. Will be interesting to see your progress should you ever decide to go on a cut.

Can I see the scientific studies that you're referring to?
Why am I bulking so hard? Because it's better to have too many nutrients than too little, and I've also explained that bulking hard has given me better strength increases.
I'll reiterate again, all ready been on several cuts. But thanks, I will post back here when I do cut later in the year and see how the naysayers respond.2 inguinal hernia repairs and I'm still gonna make it.
