After college, (s)he disappeared for years. I finally reconnected with him....ummm, I mean her through ********. Fortunately I haven't had to see him.....errr, ummm, I mean her.

Every now and again I have this one dude that is wanting to become a guy as a patient. I'm suppose to refer to him as ma'am and her etc. Right now he's just a guy with painted toe nails and a $3 wig. and I just can't do it. He hasn't had the surgery yet. Someone said I wasn't being open minded or some sh!t like that. I said, "Until he has the balls to actually get his cut off, he's a dude." Nobody ever said anything to me after that.

I'm not sure about this--no expert, natch--but I think that people who are transgendered already think of themselves as being the opposite sex regardless of the operations/hormone therapy involved or not. (If that makes any sense) For lack of a better word, they feel 'trapped' in the wrong body.
