Looked at countryside houses on the web today. So many cheap options if financially independent.
My dream goal is to get something like this 5 roomer, only about 27k USD, in a small town not too far away and close to my
sister's family.
Would be awesome with no more rent payments, just small maintenance fees/utilities etc, garden to grow own veggies,
forest areas and nature close by, good space for some big dogs to run around and for me to build exercise areas,
throwing circles etc. Anyway, just my little goal.

There is an abundance of these beautiful and super cheap houses in smaller towns. The main reason I guess is that these small towns had one or
two dominant employers in the past that shut down. Young people had to move to the bigger cities for employment and I think now many of the older
folks that stayed are passing on.

That's exactly what I hope - have worked from home before as a sort of broker/middleman.
Been out of the loop for a long time (sick) now but feeling better than ever and will try to find some way to work independently like this again.
Even grabbed 8 books on currency trading - now I just got to read them as well

Yeah, it is pretty far up north and somewhat isolated I think, Population in the county is about 7k people but only 300 in the
little town/village (Pålänge - Nässkatagrundet) itself.
Agree, having water close by is very nice. Never got the chance to do fishing but would certainly like to given the chance.
Most commonly mentioned fish in our freshwater lakes in general are Perch and Pike, but it seems Kalix has a decent population of
Salmon and Vendace in its streams as well.
