    I've seen maybe 4 girls do full ATG squats as well very low weight.

    Everyone else power squats. Most people do not know the proper form for ATG squats, let alone have the flexibility. Obviously ATG means ass touching ankles or very close.

    Most people are actually power squatting since it is more comfortable. Aka bar is lower and rested on traps and you lean forward more and can only hit slightly below parallel.

    I was power squatting 245 and realized I wanted to do ATG squats before i continue. Looked up proper form and did stretches for a month preparing.

    I CAN'T EVEN DO 1 PLATE EACH SIDE. Decending was easy, controlling the weight in the hole at the bottom was impossible. Had to do 35s for 7 reps 6 reps 6 reps, then 25 for 8 reps 7 reps 7 reps.

    ATG are so much different and use a lot of different muscles. My legs hurt in places they never did for 3 days I'm just recovered today.

    ATG squats are definitely harder, but they are different from power squats, and I definitely plan on incorporating both into my legs day from now on once I get a more solid ATG of at least clsoe to 2 plates.

    With that said, 225 for any squat is respectable. It's not amazing, but you had to work to get there, regardless of the type of squat. 225 atg is definitely impressive as most people don't even atg at all.

    Very dependent if male or female and weight.

    Also, what are the goals of the person squatting? Body Builders may quarter/half squat to hit their quads harder.

    Seeing anyone squat with free weights is respectable with any amount of weight.

    In a normal gym, 99% of people don't even do legs. Does that mean that not doing legs is okay? Exactly. Having that in mind, a 225 squat is definitely NOT impressive. Compare yourself with people who lift seriously.

    I am at 325 atg high bar and 335x3 for low bar. Both are ATG. I am 6'2 200lbs just so you can compare yourself to me.

    I consider anything ATG respectable in a commercial gym. Repping 225 atg is good tho.

    I'm at 310 for singles, ATG. I feel like my squat is incredibly weak compared to my other lifts, even considering I haven't seen anyone squat as much as me to depth at my gym.

    I'd say 365 at my weight would get my attention. 405 is where I consider you having a strong squat. My deadlift is at 410, and I can't even imagine squatting that much.

    Why not just squat to just below parallel and get further on your way to the 405lbs squat?

    Let's see. This happened at my university gym in about 2-hour span today. I squatted 425lb x 3, my powerlifting buddy squatted 385x5, and a bodybuilding buddy squatted 475x5. So, I personally wouldn't say 2 plates is impressive. I'd definately be impressed if it was 110~130lb female squatting that though.

    alot of people see a real parallel and think its atg so that kinda skews it not that it really matters.
    alot of people cant actually even go atg due to mobility issues. Like they go that low but not in a squat , they break forward and all kinds of that kinda stuff.

    I have issues getting out of the hole, right about at parallel. So if I stop just below parallel it makes it that much harder. ATG I build momentum from the bottom. Sounds strange, but I just have a sticking point in the middle.

    Been doing hip thrusts thinking that maybe extra glute strength will help.
