A large number of posters on this board and others use fincar, if proscar is a little expensive, then this should still be fine.
I'm personally doing 0.5 mg ED, that should not be a problem, since 0.5 mg is almost 95% as effective as 1 mg.
It's a good topical to have, but does not substitute for finasteride, nor does it work by the same mechanism.
Spiro stops androgen receptors (ARs) from getting binded by DHT molecules, it does that by filling the ARs with it's own active ingredient, and thus leaving no room for DHT to start working.
Finasteride stops DHT production at it's source, by inhibiting 5-AR II enzymes on the dermal papilla, and thus preventing their reduction of testosterone to DHT.
Spiro can theoretically be effective when combined by other topicals as well, but do not expect optimal results with regards to fighting AGA.
That should still be a decent alternative if applied consistently on hair that is not balding aggressively.

if youre balding you need to really just get over it. be honest the only reason you care about hair is because of women
but what you dont realize is is that getting women is 90% inner game. there are fat and bald over weight phucks all over world getting laid because they dont give a phuck
and if you have a ripped body and take care of yourself it actually looks good. there is no permanent cure as of now unless u wanna do the hair transplant if you got the money thats great but for most of us we dont have the money

Does the Dr. normally do any tests to determine if its actually MPB or do you just say Im balding and he is like ok here is fin prescription? I went to my Dr. for a routine checkup but also told him I was thinning. He was like you can go on fin or get transplant, but the problem with transplant is it doesnt stop thinning so you might need 2-3 costing over 30k. Then he just forgot about it and went back to my check up without giving me prescription.
Currently on Mino and Keto shampoo. Was debating getting s5

Since you are on AAS, then your case differs slightly.
First of all, finasteride will only work effectively against testosterone derived AAS, any other non-testosterone derived AAS with high androgenic values will not pass through the 5-AR enzyme reduction process. Since they are already in their active androgenic form.
Instead, a better solution with non-testosterone AAS is to use topical anti-androgens. S5 creams, RU58841 and ketoconazole should antagonize a decent amount of androgen receptors on the scalp and dermal papilla. It should greatly reduce follicular androgen damage, another tip would be using short cycles instead of longer ones. You are not doing your hair a favor by using them, but you could still minimize damage using the latter. It still all comes down to your genetics, and how vulnerable your hair is to AGA. Some people use all kinds of stuff and not lose a single hair.PhD in Hairloss bro-science

Redstar
What are your opinion on products like Regenpure, lipogaine, etc.
Products like these
http://www.amazon.com/Lipogaine-Men-...izoral+shampoo
Are they as effective(if more) than shampoos like Nizoral? Are they alternatives?

Even if it only happens to a small amount of guys, we still need to find out why it happens. If propecia only lowers DHT, then why do some people have
vision loss and brain fog. Are the studies about propecia inhibiting neurosteroids true ? The drug seems to do more than we think.
Even though it was designed to do one thing, it could be doing another thing at the same time like inhibiting neurosteroids.
Yes most drugs have side effects and the people who get them are a small bunch, but for most drugs the causes of side effects are understood.
With propecia, no one really knows why people get brain fog or other strange symptoms, because all the drug is doing is lowering DHT.. right ?
What does DHT have to do with vision ? Like I said, I think the drug does more than we know.

Check the ingredients.
Lipogaine is a blend solution containing 5% minoxidil. Although some people prefer rogaine foam since it's less messy. The other ingredients are marginal bonuses at best.
You cannot substitute Nizoral with an OTC shampoo containing ketoconazole, Nizoral is prescription grade because it comes in 2% concentrations, the others sold OTC are the weaker 1% version.
As long as you are getting the ones listed in the OP, then it should fine. Brands should not really make a difference in this case.PhD in Hairloss bro-science

Finasteride does not only lower DHT, it inhibits 5-AR II enzymes. It does have an effect on brain chemicals.
I've already covered this question in the FAQ, look for it.
Again, whether the rate of change or the final level of neurosteroids would induce anxiety, depression or lack of focus is highly variable. It is impossible for me, or any physician to tell you otherwise. Literally the best way to find out is to try, and stay on it long enough to check if any side effects are persistent or nocebo, usually a few months. Note that people reporting this type of side effects have a reported history with mental dysfunction. Just like the case for sexual dysfunction with finasteride, it will not cause you problems that did not exist in the first place, but it may exacerbate underlying or existing ones, even then, they are extremely rare, and statistically insignificant to take into consideration.
You could always come off if you feel uncomfortable, you literally have nothing to lose.PhD in Hairloss bro-science

Why is this guy not over 10k+ reps. This is probably the most informative thread I've read on the misc. Good work OP. You gave me a lot of great information in the other hair loss thread.

been on Nizoral + generic rogaine liquid for almost a year now. Bald spot in back is completely gone, and my temples have filled out marginally. However, had I not jumped on I'd be willing to bet my temples would have receded dramatically and my bald spot would have increased. Do it brahs!
went on official Rogaine foam over the summer and noticed extreme shedding, stay safe brahs when going foam.
