Start with something simple, like - books by stephen king, books that were turned to movies you watched. If that's still too much for you read graphic novels and then easy to read fiction paperbacks.
As a beginner you will be easily distracted by technology, people, etc, so perhaps start reading in the morning, even if it's one page in the crapper first thing in the morning.

I love reading books like The kite runner and A thousand splendid suns.

They're currently my favorite books I've ever read. Any books similar to them?

    Thanks.

I believe the author just published another book called "And the Mountains Echoed." I read the two that you are taking about, haven't checked out the latest.

It is a weird feeling. But there was a 60 year old lady in my computer programming class, and she could barely speak english. So it can always be weirder.

The weirdest feeling for me is when for some reason I thought about 9/11, and I realized everyone in my class but me was probably around 6 years old when it happened.

Almost burnt myself out reading over the holidays cause I had nothing else to do.

Re-kindled my desire by starting Harry Potter series again though. I think that's what I'll do anytime I start to tire of reading... just re-read a book I know I love.

    Did she make it?

I've seen my share of older people attending classes when studying for my previous degree..made me wonder about how much courage it took for those older folks to head butt with young people fresh out of high school. Sometimes I wonder if they made it or not.

true. even late thirties will come..but if I don't take care of this now, my late thirties would be pretty much meaningless empty existence.

Going to try participating after lurking last year. Realistically shooting for 30 some books - mostly non-fiction, I just struggle with fiction.

    1. It's Not All About Me: The Top Ten Techniques for Building Quick Rapport with Anyone by Robin Dreeke (3/5)

Short book by a former FBI agent, nothing I haven't heard of before, but it's a good reminder on conversational techniques.

looks good brah, always good to read books with the intention of improving yourself with what they teach you (which is what i'm guessing you might be intending to do).

I'd definitely recommend reading some books that reflect on the human character though, as I often feel that self-help books aren't grounded in the reality of human nature.

Good luck with your reading tho

It says to read this book in parts, and as they mentioned, I'll read one part a week for the next 24. I'll find another book to supplement this in the meantime.
Here is a good supplemental book to that one.

I just started reading it and it clarifies many topics in the Master Key System.

She was still there at the end so I'd think so. No idea how well she did in the class though. I'm sure she had some trouble because she asked the instructor a ton of questions and even had to have him define a few english words for her.

I did. I want to have my wife watch it since she hasn't read the book to see what she thinks of it as a movie. I thought it was pretty bad. And as a book adaptation it was even worse.

Can someone confirm the layout of Sun Tzu - The Art Of War, I bought the cheapest translation, because I'm a cheapskate.

The writing style is in what seems like lists of sentences or paragraphs, there doesn't seem to be any real flow.
