One argument I don't understand is about the hockey stick counter weight being hit with your head..... Only time this would seem to occur would be if you setup for the monolift outside of the rack, which is somewhat counter productive to safety lifting at home, no? I use the hockey sticks for bench and squats all inside the rack and never come close to hitting my head on those sticks.
Mech's do look very nice, and nice review.
One question, so you have Mech's setup on keyholes right? How easy does it adjust from one spot to another compared to the swing in rogue? Personally I don't use the added pins on mine because they seem sturdy enough with the swing in on one pin.[]---[] Ivanko Barbell Crew #4 []---[]

Thanks man
For some gawdforsaken reason I've bumped my head into these hockey stick b@stards so many times especially while they are set to my squat height. I've also removed my swingin safeties to make quicker access or a lateral walk through on my power rack possible while I worked on it. Believe me I hit my head 3-4 times last night adjusting monos, and taking measurements. I have a migraine from he!! today from it lol
Also, I have suspension straps and ~30" long safety spotter arms that I like to use outside like a half-rack with monos and sometimes I use these inside of the rack.
Actually both monos are comparatively the same weight ...(I think Mech's are heavier) but I do think the keyhole monos are easier and quicker to adjust after playing with them for awhile.Last edited by Nebamartinez; 02-16-2017 at 04:20 PM.

Not to be a bad influence, but I did this exact thing. Sold my Rogue Monster Light and Mech6 'standard j-hook style' monos.. "Upgraded" to Rogue Monster RM-3 and lucked out and Mech built me a monolift to work with the keyholes. I have zero regrets on doing the swap. The Monster rack is awesome with the keyholes and I love the functionality of the keyhole mono vs. standard j-hook style. If you do it, just don't buy a Rogue Monster rack in Red. Two of us already have red so you're required to get another color.

I can understand the benefits of the key-hole for the monolifts, probably similar to the advantage of having drop-in style racks. Mech's Mono's are SUPER heavy but I adjust them extremely fast, dare I say faster than any other rack with the unique design on the Pendlay drop-in

haha! I didn't know you did the same thing. funny enough, I keep going back to look at the "pics of your home gym" thread to look at your rack and your texas method thread to see the monos in action. you really are a bad influence. this probably wouldn't happen anytime soon though as I'm probably not moving for a year or so. plus, mech is out of the mono game for the time being...

While Rogue will probably start adding stuff for the keyholes, I think I'm done buying Rogue accessories. I just had to modify Rogue's weight storage pins to make them function properly, and they're already priced pretty high. Mech's stuff is better designed, has better finish, and it's just nice that he uses common sense in his design (what a concept!!). Just hoping Mech's "break" doesn't become a "retirement."
