I'm building a "JM press bar". I have an idea how to make it better, we'll see how it works. I can't use my SSB because I have the crepinsek and the handles don't come off like the elitefts one. Anyways, for reference, how long are the actual pads on the elitefts yoke bar? Just the pads, measured from the bar (not the horizontal pad). Will cut down on some testing time. I'll post a photo when it's done.
Thank you for any help.
Edit: before anyone asks "why?", why not? I have 17 other barbells (most are specialty bars. I can list them if anyone cares), I'm too old to change now.

Looks like one less thing Mech won't be frequently requested to build since this been a popular luxury the crew has been jokingly thrown around on here...

Of course I'm sure Mech's version of this attachment would be souped up with thermos controls, temperature regulators, custom powder coats, etc...and that he'll still be nagged about fabbing up a better one.

Looks actually quite cool. How difficult was it creating the pads?

I didn't. Top one came with the original cheap ssb bar. Bottom one is just a regular foam pad off some machine. Honestly, they're both useless. Top one won't do anything unless you lose control and crash the bar into your face. Bottom one could be a steel bar. Just has to be a stop to create a pivot when you shift bar back over your face.

Anyone own the rogue (or titan) rackable cambered bar (the big one, 14-16" camber or something)? Please PM if you can, I need some measurements. I'm going to transform my old bar into a spider bar and rebuild another one that's a bit wider. Just curious if the commercial ones are as narrow up top as I think they are.
Or if someone has the old westside cambered bar (not rackable, the bent one), now called Bully bar, that would be even better.
I'll post my design/CAD when drawn if anyone is curious.▪█──█▪ Equipment Crew #61 ▪█──█▪

Someone commented asking for the bar length and he provided it. He might take the measurements you need. Video is from 2 years ago but he posted another video 3mo ago with someone using the bar so he still has it.

Thanks to mrcheeze for finding this.
My FT is going places, lol. The chinese went further than the italians, they even added the indexable pullup.

You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

Done. 65 lbs, 50mm sleeves (not pipe). Plywood is 48" wide, for reference. This is not rackable, needs an actual monolift (real one, not rack attachments).
Gave it a try and it seems much more comfortable on my shoulders by having the grip quite a bit wider than my old one. It's too slippery (bare cold rolled steel) to use any actual weight on it right now.
Will paint when it stops raining.
Now phase 2 is turning my old bar into a spider bar.Last edited by Mech6; 06-17-2022 at 05:48 PM.

[QUOTE=Mech6;1682232663]Rogue deep dish plates. Can someone who has these measure the bore size (with a caliper)? Rogue has them speced at 50mm but I doubt they're actually that small (1.97") because that would be very tight on most barbells. Even their calibrated plates are 50.4mm.[/QU
OTE
My Arnolds measure 50.13 on the front of one, 50.45 on the back. The other one is 50.45 on both sides.Last edited by Greybird2; 05-07-2023 at 12:00 PM.

Question for anyone with access to a smith machine. How "locked-in" are both ends to each other? As in, if you lift the bar from one end only does it:
1. move easily and stay parallel to the floor
2. move ok but tilted
3. really drag or jam completely?
Trying to see if I need one pillow block (mounted bearing has a bit of swivel built-in) on each end to hold barbell or do I double them up so there's no play at all.
Thanks for any help.▪█──█▪ Equipment Crew #61 ▪█──█▪
