For me, diameter only makes it whip less. But you'll only notice that when it gets heavy enough. My shoulder pain is more pronounced on warmup sets where my shoulder is less "mobile". Eventually it works its way loose and kind of numbs. I regret it next day. So no, if you have same issue as me (frozen shoulder), what really helps is having hands lower and wider.

Yeah, I now have a set of roller Jcups which would likely work better, but at the time when I decided to move on from the Duffalo, I just had standard Jcups and I was trying to get a set of offset ones made but just never happened and I just decided that the Buffalo Bar sat better in standard Jcups and decided to just keep that one instead. I would probably look at getting another Duffalo Bar again for the right price.

For your shoulder pain, have you tried Donnie Thompson's shoulder mobility work right before lifting?
Last time when I hurt my shoulder pretty bad, I would do that before each workout and it was magic.
It's like an 8 minute video on youtube with a few different band exercises and one laying on the ground with a kettlebell.
Combined with some major soft tissue work (I love that acumobility blue snow cone looking thing and the blue orb massage ball) and I was good to go.

So, something a bit different. My gym (in garage) is basically overflowing. And a lot of it is a bunch of kettlebells and fatbells laying on the floor. I don't have a free wall to put up storage racks. But I do have some space under the stairs that is basically useless for anything except storage. So I removed all the toolboxes that used to live there and made myself a rolling platform that slides in an out. 1.5" square tube frame, plywood, textured PVC top layer and some PVC molding (added some to one side also to slide against the stair column and guide it). Then mounted these casters https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...R052LOZQ&psc=1 . No swivel, so it slides in and out like a drawer. I have 895 lbs on it now, lol.
KBs: 15, 20, 25 pair, 30 pair, 35 pair, 40 pair, 44 pair, 53 pair (one missing in photo), 62, 70, 80.
Fatbells: 44 pair, 53 pair. I still have a 62 and a 70 out on the floor, I'll figure something out. Maybe another "drawer" higher up for the small ones to make room that way

@Mech6, what are your thoughts on the mutant metals roller monolift attachments?

The spring return is nice, if it's consistent and reliable. But the arms are VERY wide. No reason they can't bring those down to 1" wide, which is what most actual monolifts measure. And they seem short, I'd be curious to see what the actual clearance is when you factor in the severe angle and the height of the front lip.
Roller cups could be a nice feature.▪█──█▪ Equipment Crew #61 ▪█──█▪

Interesting. Watching the bench video, they don't seem to swing very far out of the way but I haven't used monolifts. Maybe it's sufficient.
Edit: There's more info on their site, including pricing. $485 is a pass from me.

Griffin Fitness is coming out with compact monolift attachments that look similar in design to the ATX ones (Griffin lists the monos have a tension spring mechanism and catch hook). The ATX monolift pair are rated to handle up to 300kgs.
Mutant metals responded in discord with the following when asked about the difference between MMs monos and ATX.
“I can only comment on what I can see since I don’t have any direct experience with these. The atx use a linear spring we’re mine is a torsion spring. Not really a big difference in functionality in the spring mech, torsion may be quicker but again I can’t confirm that. Obviously the snap backs have the roller and the ability to be fixed in a j cup position. The atx is probably lighter by looking at it, looks to be 1/4in possibly, hard to tell.”
They are also coming out with adjustable lever arms and has the ability to lock the arms into multiple positions.
Mech: is that what you were talking about before when I asked how to go about locking the lever arms in certain positions to do different movements (preventing them from going lower than the set position)?

Mech6, you still willing to fab parts you already designed?
I might be interested in some offset J-cups, and liked what I saw pages back in this thread.
If not, is there another place to find something like this?Jason

Hey, Mr. Mech6, would you be up for joining the Homegym discord server? It’s another forum, but a little more fast paced and I think a lot of active members (11k last count) that would love to talk about your designs. If you’re up for it, here’s the link.

So we scrapped some machinery at work and one of them had a 20' length of 5.5"OD, 5/8"wall tubing. Cut myself some 2' sections and deburred the ends. Took me a while to get rid of the 1/8" layer of caked on axle grease. Had to use acid. Turns out they're galvanized, lol, they were completely black when I took it apart.
So anyways, these are basically my new tempering rollers (search Donnie Thompson or rogue). Why? Not sure, but why not? They weigh in at 60lbs but I can add weight to one of them in the future if needed.

I didn't know what a tempering roller was so here's the link for the similarly uneducated:

Why is this the first image that popped into my head after reading their disclaimer? LMAO
X2. I though my homemade trigger roller was one of my best friend's these days. I can see that I'll have to step up and make one of these tempering rollers next and try it for the "in-between" ailments that the trigger roller doesn't cover. I've been referring to this as the "duct tape" phase of life. Been here for a while.
On the flip side a shoulder injury that's been bothering me for about 18 months actually seems to be resolving itself and I'm benching without much in the way of pain again though I have no idea why as I'd kind of given up. Had figured it was another small labrum tear or something.
