The axial rotation of the landmine/barbell would mess everything up. Any small shift and the whole thing would swing to one side or the other. At it's cheapest, this thing only requires a tube with 2 holes (one for pivot, one for locking pin), a pin or band peg long enough to traverse 2 tubes (to act as pivot), and a hitch pin (to lock).

Ok, I started getting these back from powder coat and I'll assemble them as I get some free time. I'm going to work my way down the list in the order they were requested, so no one panic if they haven't gottent a PM/email yet, it's going to take me a few days to get them all ready. I'm not skipping anyone. Still have all the uhmw to do on most of them

Loaded it up to 780, then climbed on to get it to 1000 lbs. Unracking the 780 went fine although I was using a dip belt and I was more worried about that than anything else. Nothing really tight/torqued and actual hardware isn't shown. Pivot will be a shoulder bolt, not the hex bolt used here. Same deal with the belt attachment point, I'm still plyaing with that one. Some differences with sorinex are:
. weight horns come apart to ship.
. can use 35" long rogue jammer arms (and anything longer). This one has 1" holes, but next one will add 5/8" holes also.
. no metal-to-metal contact. Bronze, plastic or rubber at all contact points.
. adjustable belt attachment. Again, playing with this.
. Probably more range of motion since plates are higher up and are nowhere near the ground when this bottoms out.
. 3/16" and 1/4" thick plates instead of 1/8". Probably useless, but there it is.

Also, here I'm just using a round bar through a tube for the arm. And I can confirm that the "smoothness" of the pivot makes 0 difference. There's so much load on it, it's not noticeable. What does make a difference, for loading, is the side-to-side play of that pivot. Because that will cause the thing to rock back and forth as you slide on plates. Nothing major/dangerous but it's there.

Arrived late for the occasion on this, but is this belt squat a stand alone piece, or a rack mounted piece?

It's a jammer/lever arm mounted piece. So wherever you want to mount that would work.

I saw another Jsquat copy on IG where the plates can be re-positioned along the arm, but loading+removing plates doesn't look as easy

Safety strap brackets for racks with 5/8” holes. If getting these brackets from Mech, you’d just need to buy the straps separately.

See below link (which is for 1” hole racks):

Thank you very much. I knew I had seem them before, I just couldn't pinpoint exactly where.

Hey Mech. With the FT pulldown addition, couldn’t you widen the pulldown portion a bit and run the cables - swing arm > stack pulley > pulldown, rather than - swing arm > stack pulley > mount?

Ratio would stay the same, and there would be no need to clip an extra cable or have a cable lying around when not in use.

That thing could be the most complete all in one upper body piece ever. Awesome man!

Here is a reverse hyper attachment that I built. Easy(ish) design, stands on its own when not in use, and sets up very quickly. I have no plans to build any more, but design is yours if you want it.

Yes, but then it would be very wide for bilateral work, which is what I'm using it for. Honestly this wasn't thought of during original design and it's a just a "cheap" add-on so I could do regular pulldowns without getting a new setup.

That is nice. Makes more sense than the rogue version that takes up half your rack permanently.
There's a very old one I made somewhere on this forum which was very simlar to yours except it was attached to rack and could be lifted and stored vertically at back when not in use.

That thing looks like it's bottoming out on the ground and she's at like 120° shin/femur angle. Not mounted high enough maybe?

They probably just have one belt and that belt is too big/long for her so it’s bottoming out early

    Hey Mech,

Any idea on a price for your belt squat?

Ideally something that would fit my NL Croxxbox that is easy to install or a perminantly wall mounted version.

Yes, but I'm not up to the full version yet. Only one for existing jammer arms right now.

To those that have already received Mech's strap safeties... what's the consensus on strap length? I've found a shop that's willing to make custom straps for me however I'd hate to have them made too long. Any help is appreciated... Thanks

Sorinex makes them 1” longer (ex. 30” depth rack, 31” straps). I believe Rogue makes them 2” or so longer.

I'd go no more than 1" longer since they do sag quite a bit when loaded. Brackets will separate from the upright by an inch or more.

Maybe they make them longer now. ‘1” or so longer’ (than rack inside depth) from my emails with Sorinex last year or so.
