You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

This is just a posting that if some body else who has Mech Mono's makes the same mistake then here is the solution.

Mech gives you 2 holes for the stopper bolt. When I got mine the stopper bolt was on the first hole. So few months ago I decided to move the stopper belt to second hole so that I have little more room during the concentric portion of the squat. Got hurt and did not SQ for few months.
Now started to work out couple of weeks ago and today I noticed that one of the swing arms is not retracting after the lift off .

We were using J cups as weight for SQ till today

Here is the pic even without any eight it looks like the swing Arm is stuck

Now after couple of e-mail exchanges with Mech , I realized that I over tighten the stopper bolt.

    Small bolt in the pic

So played little bit with the stopper bolt and the pivot bolt ( bigger bolt) on the above pic by loosening and tighting like 1/8 each time, now this arm swings just like the other one stops gently at the rubber stopper. I tried with empty bar.

So sometimes perfection has it's own downside lol.. Unlike other equipment, Mech's stuff is engineered and built with precision.

Not sure how to upload a video but I took video of the arm retracting back after initial fix.

As i got rid of my Jammer arms i need to install Mech's Belt SQ . After going through couple of options i have decided to install the post directly on the concrete. The small holes take 1/4" tapcons and large one 1/2". Planning to use 4 , 1/14' diameter ones.

For folks who installed the post directly to the concrete , what length tapcons did you use ?

The large holes are for 3/8" anchors when on concrete, the small holes are for wood screws when using a platform. I'd use the larger holes in this case. 4 corners is enough, don't need 6. Unless your floor is pretty damaged.

I'm still weary about drilling into my foundation, would rather build a small 4x4 wooden platform and have something that could be moved later on.

I tend to agree. I had thought of simply a wood foundation to give it stability but not large enough for me to stand on (on the rack it is currently more in the way than not with how my room is set up). But you're thinking a full platform for it?

Just figured it would be super easy to make, couple inches thick with maybe a cutout on the center for additional ROM. I'm very happy with the platform I built for my rack, it's nice having things bolted down.

I think lifting web straps would probably work. Like this:

    https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07SQJRBQT...ing=UTF8&psc=1
Material and design for sure but they need to be a specific length. I have a 43" safety length so that's absolute straight line minimum and then a few inches for adjustability. These are either 3.3' and next is 6.6' I think. Someone had a source a while back but I forgot to bookmark or lost the link.

If you search around you can find lifting web straps in other lengths/widths. I think I've seen 48" that would work for you. You can probably even get a custom length from companies that specialize in towing and lifting slings/chains/straps.

No, they went off my CADs. I send them off to a member here a while back because:
    1. he's bought quite a bit off me years ago
    2. he's in Europe and not N.America or China
    3. I never had a goal of making any more
    4. He told me exactly what he wanted to do and this was probably a huge pain for him to get it done by someone else

I'm actually glad because it proves someone was capable of using my CADs and having it come out correctly. Now if rogue or rep want to send me a pallet of product, I'd part with the plans again

The pulldown, front upright and thigh pads they must of pulled off my photos (build photos are in this thread) because those were not in the CADs. In fact I just completed the pulldown correctly a few weeks ago (being just one cable, not an extra one hooked to arms like back in 2018).

So the member emailed me and turns out I was wrong. He never had time to send out the CADs and it seems the italian company just copied it from what they found on this forum. So yes, seems someone is lurking. And it kind of leaves a bitter taste about the whole thing, but again, in Europe, so it's not something I'm going to see around here.
As I told the member, they blow the chinese clone artists out of the water because they're working off photos only.

Very cool design, genius way to incorporate a pulldown. I'd put it on the short list when it comes to the States

Only thing I'd say is the pulldown sides are too far apart on their version. I have them much closer but it did require me to use an additional 2 pulleys on each side to get the cable to route properly. And ideally the outputs would swivel like the output on the PRIME single stack pulldown. Which is what I copied (PRIME functional trainer) for my arm output swivel design.

Also, talk to rogue. I'll trade plans for fatbells .

Well I'll say that I've never really been interested in buying a functional trainer, but I'd definitely consider one that doubled as a lat pulldown machine with the leg holds. Could see this as a great option for the home gym enthusiast or small personal training studio gym.

It would need large stacks because most FTs won't have enough weight. Even Alex's and mine "only" have 250 lbs on each stack which is fine for a FT (125 lbs felt per arm) but it means I can only do pulldowns up to 250 lbs (still 2:1 ratio using both stacks). Which is ok for me (I never do them, bad shoulders) but wouldn't be enough if it had a low row for example. Which is why I didn't bother with lower pulleys on this and do my rows on another stack. So, anyways, not sure a 250 lbs max pulldown option is very commercially viable. Should raise them to 300 lbs, then it's fine and competes with other pulldowns.

Sounds like it would be fine for me, I've never been one to go extremely heavy with pulldowns, higher volume usually and focus on the 'squeeze'.
