Mech,
Have you ever considered shipping these across country by Greyhound? I seem to recall them having pretty decent rates. It looks like the largest item they will handle is 84" That seems like it could be good for some of us who cant get a 90" rack in our basements...

Mech6, whenever I see pictures of your custom work, I think of Dynatorch Super B low-cost plasma CNC. It comes in sizes 4x4, 4x8 and 5x10.

This Canadian welder is using the Dynatorch Super B in his home shop. Here it's used for making a welding table:

I've been wanting to see you build a monster rack ever since you started posting some of your work. This is going to be interesting!!!

Ridiculous chin up bar. You'd have a monster grip for that one. Looks like rod in pipe design without the movement? Other uses besides chins? It's unique. I also see you've taken to the Rae Crowther chin porch design. I like it. Build more!
How tall is that rack, eh? Looks like a beast. You're giving me a lot of ideas.Crews: Ivanko Barbell Crew #52, York Barbell Club #95, Equipment Crew #59
Lifts no one cares about:
SQ: 619x1 (suit bottoms, no belt) / 507x1 (raw, no belt)
BP: 392x1 (pause bench, raw)
DL: 500x1 (suit bottoms, no belt)

Well we already have 2x normal chinup bars, and 2x fat (2") bars, so he wanted something different. It's 2.38". It's welded, doesn't move. I tried it, it's not that bad.
The front porch is somthing I made for myself a while back. I really liked it on the old Nebula racks. Then I put it on Alex's half-rack, and now this one. It's actually made for the monkey chinup bar, but anything can go anywhere as seen here. I REALLY do not understand why others don't offer this. It's the ideal solution to get a monkey chinup bar lower (away from ceiling) without lowering the whole rack. Like for the efs collegiate. Everytime I see a chinup bar mounted upside down to distance the ceiling, I think of this front porch.
Rack is 92".
Still have 3 different kinds of safety spotters, about 72 j-hooks and dumbbell trays to build. And dip bars. And probably other stuff I forgot. Oh, and storage pins. And band pegs... And wings.Last edited by Mech6; 03-31-2014 at 05:48 PM.
