So I made myself a new fat bar. It's been welded up for a few months, but I just got around to painting it.

What I didn't like about my old one:
    1. came in at 35 lbs.
    2. rings were just marked on with paint pen. Couldn't really feel them.

I wanted something at 45 lbs and I wanted to feel the rings as if they were cut into the knurling. So I got a thicker 2" tube, machined the flanges to get it to 45 lbs, did some masking and used bed liner (like last time) to give it some grip. The masked portions are bare steel and you can feel the marks with your fingers. Should work fine.
Also, left the sleeves bare because painting them would be stupid.

I remember you saying you switched to a fat bar exclusively. I assume this is just for pressing?

I've been thinking of buying the York Hercules 2988 fat bar. I haven't seen a comprehensive review of it, so it would be uncharted territory.

Yes, for over a year now. All pressing and whenever I do curls. Reverse curls with a fat bar are humbling at the start.

    Mech's indexable chin-up attachments

As with everything Mech's made for me, these are perfect. These can be installed on racks with 5/8" and 1" holes (with adapter bushings)...mine has 1". In the pics the 1.25" grips are installed however I also have 2" grips as well. With the wingnuts, I'll be able to interchange the grips easily without the need of a wrench. I currently have the assemblies about 27" or so apart (center to center).

I installed them on the side of the rack but I like that I'm able to install it anywhere on the rack if I wanted to.

    Well, here's some pics:

Mech's amazing monolifts on my legend rack. The craftsmanship of these make me sad that I didn't get a Mech rack but they are simply amazing.

I'll have a full view after the safeties come but wanted some close ups of how perfectly snug this fits in place. Rarely am I speechless but these have done it.

I have to weld something to fill up a batch going to powder coating. So I need something simple/fast. I'm going to make a few of these

Any ideas on making it better? I don't think it needs to change much, if at all. I have no ideas on dimensions, I'm just going to ballpark it.

Stole photo from krlafont's old thread.

I have a Sorinex glute ham roller. I like it but think it would be better with an option to quickly switch between fixed and pivoting wheels. For the standard glute ham exercises I like the smooth, fixed wheels it comes with, but would prefer a pivoting wheel option for added ab/upper body flexibility. Especially with a pivoting wheel option, I think handles on sides would also be useful. Search for "glute ridge roller" to see a similar (but lesser) design with handles (I'd prefer lower profile handles than what theirs has though).

I've always considered picking one of those up, since I have zero room for a leg curl, but just never pulled the trigger. Maybe grip tape for traction?

Mech, how about standard wheels on one side and pivoting wheels on the other. The unit would be a bit thicker but all you would have to is flip it over.

Would anyone think being able add resistance makes sense? Especially from those who have used something similar. I used something like a DIY sled version and i could add weight to it and liked that aspect of it.

You can add bands. In which direction depends which exercise you want to do.

I do not think it needs much (if any) change in design. Every once in a while I wonder if the angle iron in the middle were deeper, if I would have a little more control in the movement. But then I realize it is just my weak core that is messing me up!

Is it 2x2 angle? I was thinking of using 2-1/2".
Also, are the sides 2" tall and the wheels around 3-1/4"? Is there enough clerance under the round grips for your hands to wrap around without rubbing your fingers on the floor? This was my first worry about the design.

I have these pics from someone previously asking.. Don't judge my tape measure!!! I do not have it in front of me, but has to be 2" angle. Yes, there is enough clearance as the round grip is at the top of the 2 inch Flat stock (side).. 4th pic is only showing the thickness of the sides
