Thank you for the advice . Sorry I was a little vague . I have a 240V - 100 Amp service in my garage , that's why I'm debating to try welding . Neighbor said there's guys at the College that needed to be medicated after trying to get a decent weld with a Tig machine . Dang guys YouTube makes it look so easy
The only interests I have is welding steel square tubing to make myself new bumper plate racks and modify a Lat machine .
I have a lot of respect for the skills you have , as your work looks perfect IMO . Love to have your knowledgeMake Misc great again

Alright, so I'm making 2 FTs. This is general idea with mine (obvisouly missing all the bolts and cables). Alex's will have different colours and more covers/panels, but function is the same. Will also have an indexable chinup off the front (or back).
Thanks to a7stringkilla, STR8OUT and dumb.bell for some help during the design phase. I basically tried to combine all the best features from a few different setups. Started on some parts, should have some stuff welded up in the next 2 weeks.
If anything seems off, now's the time to say something, lol.

as you design a piece like this (or any piece) do you sit there thinking "**** me this is going to be a headache to build" or do you generally just get excited and deal with the headaches as they arise?
anyhow i'm excited for progress pics.Domicron's Basement Gym and Fun House

My god man, that looks insanely epic. Is there a height on this thing locked in yet? I went with my Paramount since it just barely clears my open overhead garage door. Not particularly fond of only 75lbs per hand though. This gonna be 200lb per stack or more?

is this something you are going to be willing to make on a routine basis?
I don't believe in deloading. Instead you should find someone at the gym, ask them to be your friend, once you are friends ask them to blind fold you, make sure not to look cheeky because otherwise they might get the wrong end of the stick. Then ask them to load the bar with a number between 2.5kg - 250kg, then blast out 4x10 reps. You gotta get past that mental block, deloads are a waste of time and you don't get any kudos from your new friend at the gym. Seeking: Hip Press

You never know, but it really depends how much time I have and how long these take. As I've said before, I have a lot of other stuff I'd like to get done soon. Stuff that is unavailable elsewhere. FTs like this are available, but up here they would cost a fortune (exchange rate + shipping), so this is actually saving money for us. Plus we get to pick and choose what features we want.
