I guess foundationally statics isn't difficult... it's basically vector math in 2/3 dimensions and geometric manipulation... also some calc when you get into centroids. Our midterms were a nightmare... averages were very low and there was zero curve. It's very much a weed-out class at my school. I think a quarter of the people in my class are taking it their second time.

Hi Everyone,
Mechanical Engineer here working in the Construction Industry for a consultancy in London.
100% working from home and have been for the last 6 months... Likely now for another 6 months given the latest UK announcements, all my site inspections are now carried out virtually, snagging is carried out virtually via 3D models. All meetings are via teams.
It's a strange new world isn't it...Rep Back, I Do.

It is indeed. Working as the Operations Engineer at an LNG facility, my work requires me to be on-site. Meetings have gone completely virtual but projects and maintenance activities have caused my coworkers and I to be in close vicinity. Early on we experimented with separating into two teams and alternating weeks but we quickly fell behind with our off-season turnaround work. All of our personnel at HQ have been and will continue to work remotely (lucky LOL)

EE graduate in 2016.
so i never used my degree, didnt get a good GPA or internships. managed to get job offers but only in areas where basically no one lived. pay would have been good, 70k + 5k sign on bonus were offered (midwest). but I took an IT job in the city. i loved my IT job, my team company is young, we all get along, i was an FA until i moved here. but after 2.5 years im bored and never challenged anymore. kind of regret not taking the job out of graduation but grass is always greener. im not making as much as i'd like to and want to do something new.
i'm studying to take the FE and planning to test in nov-dec. ive been applying to jobs but nothing... i wonder if theres even any point being out of engineering for so long. is there? should i even bother trying? im going to take the test regardless i just want opinions, i'm feeling defeated after so much rejection/ no replies.
