So why do so many of you guys here think that 50K is nothing?
I LOL @ so many young dumb kids here who have never gone into the real work place. You guys are going to be blown away by how difficult it is to earn 50K, much less earn 80-100+...

Not going to be that high in the coming years. Salaries are drastically going down, and with full economical collapse inevitable, most grads won't have jobs at all.

You do realize it says 50k for an AVERAGE income. No thanks at average. Hoping I make way more than that in my late 20s. Otherwise good night sweet ego. I've already inflated my self worth well past that. I'm sure many misc'ers can relate.

just cos its avg does not mean its a lot.
i make much more at 22 but i still realize its still not a lot. theres so many expenses. i also like to save for retirement, buy stocks etc. i also want to save money. want to buy fancy clothes, food, nice apartment etc. be safe and never ever go into debt. essentially live a safe life with some luxuries. if i knick my car, or some other expense comes up. i can pay those things off. i am safe and have nice savings.
at 50 k its very difficult to do that. most ppl have nothing in savings, retirement etc.
at 50k u cant go out and accidently have one of those nights where u spent 150 bucks on drinks. i can occasioanlly and still be fine.

It depends where you live. In middle America that is working hard for years and working up to that salary. In the bigger cities that is poverty wages and reserved for secretaries or fresh out of school people. When you can buy a crazy house with a 3-car garage for $150K in middle America and my condo is 750sq ft for $300k, you get the difference. If I made $50k I literally couldn't survive where I live, and I am single.

that is such a false accusation. show me the source... You really expect a fkn psychology/art/sociology major to keep their jobs or land right on their major after graduating? If you ask people or search majors and their current job now all the useless ones aren't even working with their degree while the engineers/doctors/financiers land right on their degree and come out of college with a job ready... There is going to be an exponential amount increase with software/electrical/coding and all that sht in the future the fk you mean salaries are going down yeah for the dumb ones.

Real talk, bachelor degree in finance, starting pay was 32k out of school. 33 now and around 105k or so but took a ton of work to get there. Must say I feel the same now as when I was making 50k though including 401k's, stocks, etc. You just find more stupid stuff to spend money on as you make more.
