Lol this kinda happened to my Note 4. I use texdroider to change DPI. I used to have my Note 3 at 320 so screen contents are really small. I tried 320 on Note 4 but it was way smaller because of its bigger resolution.
I didnt get boot loop but I dont know whats the default DPI of note 4 so I cant change it back. I dont want to try increasing it because if I exceed the default, thats when you get the bootloop. I remember note 3 was 480.
Search the web but I dont think anything related to Note 4 DPI has been discussed anywhere yet because I cant find any.
I did factory reset and DPI is still so small. No choice but to flash the official firmware, reroot the phone and restore apps from titanium backup. Felt so stupid wasting my time on that.

About root lockdown:
I think from the past phone releases, especially Samsung phones, bootloader security is dependent upon the network. Like Note 3 was released with unlockable BL on TMO and Sprint but its locked until now on ATT. Not sure about Verizon though. And this is the same now on Note 4, some are locked some are unlockable so decision didnt come from Samsung.
2nd Link: Occasional lag
Not really sure what to say as I haven't experience anything like that. I have tried to mess with the phone already and resulting to me flashing the stock firmware twice because I cant fix what I did lol:
- After rooting, I tried using texdroider to change UI/Launcher DPI. But was so potato that I didnt research the default DPI for Note 4 so in case I wanna go back to stock, I could. BTW, default value for Note 4 is 640. Panicked after increasing the DPI many times but still cant get back the stock. I dont wanna just increase it and exceed the stock because I could get a bootloop. So decided to just reflash stock firmware.
- I tried to mess up with new Android L apps and install it to my Note 4. I managed to install Gmail, Messenger, Fit and Calendar BUT:
--Fit doesnt work, it doesn't count steps, record my settings etc so uninstalled it.
--Messenger works but I use Hangout for all messaging so removed it too.
--Kept Gmail because of the new look.
--Calendar messed up my calendar sync. Uninstalled it but I cant get my calendar sync to work. I cant add google account to it as well. So decided to reflash again. Too bad because I really like the new calendar.
So my point is from stock and even after all these reflash on stock firmware, I never encounter lag at all. All those troubles I had is because of me trying something else. I wouldnt try anything that I know I cant fix anyway lol.
3rd Link:
Yes thats basically the link I followed to:
- read and learn what doesnt work yet
- download the root file from Chainfire.
- get the procedure to fix sd card write.
They talk about Xposed on that thread a lot. I havent installed it yet because I know it will mess up S Health and I dont have time yet to fix it if I have to. There are also some cases that it messes up scrapbook. I use it a lot so I dont wanna use Xposed yet until its official released for Note 4 support.
Just read a lot on XDA brah. You dont have to do everything, just read and try small things. Just remember, you need to have the stock firmware ready on your PC all the time. If you mess up and dont know how to fix, Odin back to stock
If you have unlimited data, when you decide to root, check how to have unlimited hotspot. This is one feature I cant live without. I always carry with me a tablet and an old Note 2 and both of them always connect from my Note 3 before and now on 4. Last month I reached 60GB on data consumption and about 50GB is from tethering. And I only have 3GB hotspot allowance. loL!Last edited by jinda628; 10-22-2014 at 07:49 AM.

It depends on how much space is left on your storage. I usually need 4GB of space for every nandroid backup. It will fail if you dont have enough space.
What phone is that? Only 8GB internal? Dont you have sdcard?
You can download Storage Analyzer to check which folder has huge file content.

Think my Galaxy s3 is ****ting out on me. Tried numerous ways of restoring backups, installing new roms, everything. It just won't stop restarting on me randomly. I can't even press the on/off screen button to just have the screen off anymore because it'll freeze then restart if I do it, feels bad man.

Alright bros, getting the Note 4 tomorrow but I have a lot of music on my phone that never got backed up (laptop that had the music got destroyed around same time)
I luckily got all of my pictures and stuff through email as well as the wireless app that let's you transfer stuff.
How can I get my music library to my computer? (mind you problem with charging port, so every time I try to plug into my laptop (brand new and only this phone does this) says usb is unreadable or whatever

So your music is in your current (old) phone and you cant connect it using USB cable? How about uploading your music to dropbox or maybe google drive then download it again when you got your new phone.
Or if you have OTG cable, you can transfer them straight to an external drive then transfer them the same way thru OTG to the new Note 4. That way may be faster than cloud.Steam - jinda28
