htc one was getting terrible battery life, around 5 hours, and i actually prefer the n5 build quality over the it
growing tired of ios and the small screen
plus i plan on leaving sprint soon, so it's nice to have a phone i can take with me, testing t-mobile's $30 plan for a month
the n5 camera is slow as fuk though, one thing i miss from the other two phonesI'll have the milk steak, boiled over hard, and your finest jelly beans…raw

In. I was wondering why I wasn't getting notifications
Okay srs question is srs
If I just use my note 3 for the basic texting, basic Internet googling (and apps), calling, and just the gym for music, am I killing myself by not rooting/flashing any ROMs for it.
So far I just "froze" the apps I don't want to see or use, and it's still rather fast.Modified PHAT master race

Not at all if you're just using it like you described. If you're happy with the look, performance, and battery life of your phone, I'd recommend you stick with stock for now. If you want to get into the nitty gritty of customization (ex: flashing other ROMs like Android 4.4 releases, audio mods such as Viper4Android, or Wanam exposed) then you will have to root. To be honest, you're really not missing much unless you want to get a sneak preview of KitKat 4.4
IMO the Note 3 stock by far has been the best stock experience I've had on any Android device. Can't beat the stability and battery life on this thing (averaging 2.5 days use with 6+ hours of on screen time). I used to be a hater of TouchWiz, but it's grown on me especially the S-Pen functions which I thought I would never use.
This is all coming from a guy who's flashed hundreds of different ROMs, kernels, tweaks, mods, you name it over the course of the past 4 years on all sorts of different devices.

No problem brah happy to help
The S-Pen definitely takes time to get used to. I mainly use it to jot down quick notes at work meetings, and there's some functions that let you link your handwriting instantly to your contact books, calendar, to do lists, etc. There's some pretty powerful software features for the business/organization oriented.
But there's also some fun apps out there if you're into drawing and art. Check out FlipAClip, it's a pretty fun app that lets you make your own animations like a flipbook.

For those with Note 2, there is a 4.3 TW ROM (Sky Note 3) for ATT that also work for TMO here. It has all the feature of Note 3 maybe except for the IR function.

Update of the above ^
Installed the ROM on my TMO Note 2. Everything went fine. I still installed Nova because I dont think I can modify TW launcher as easy as Nova.
This is the leaked official 4.3 TW ROM for ATT Note 3. For TMO, you need to flash the devil kernel so Wifi will work.
I got all the features especially the airview working on my Note 2 now. So it has action memo, scrapbook, screen write, s-finder and pen window. Thread said this should work fine on S-gear too.
Keeping this until the official 4.3 update for sure. Got to test if MHL works works later.
Its a little confusing now after being on AOSP/CM/PA ROMs for a long time.Steam - jinda28

TW 4.3 is just a huge upgrade. Got 5 hours of screen on time, while streaming music for about an hour, with 14 hours of run time. S4 running Golden Eye with my 3000 mAh battery from Zero Lemon. Fully recommend it. Barely any weight difference and no size difference.
