Finally upgrading from Note 8 to Note 20 Ultra.

Note 8 is still working fine but battery doesn't last that long anymore and have a crack on the corner of the screen.
Should be arriving tomorrow as per Fedex tracking. Also got the Samsung beans and Mogo controller since I got $200 coupon on accessories for pre-ordering.

Anyone else getting the Note 20? This is my bday gift to myself and a 2020 YT Capra Pro Race

Did they change the freebie? When I pre-ordered it was a $200 coupon. So I just used it to buy the Buds Live and Mogo and pay a small balance.

I initially traded my cracked Note 8 but thinking of not going with it since its just taking off $100 lol. I'll just give it to my 5 yr old since his tablet is very laggy now.

My pre-order is in. Hyped. Waiting for Spigen cases to list on Amazon unless anyone else here has suggestions.

After reading a couple things I cancelled my pre-order as there is just no point in pre-ordering without Goole offering a bonus. Apparently last year the 4 was on sale for $200 off already less than a month later. I don't think we'll see the same type of discount this year as the 5 should sell much better but we may see something and if I just get impatient waiting for a sale I'll pop on my Google fi app and order one. No incentive to pre-order means no pre-order, my dik just got too hard.

Pixel 5 was a let down. I swapped out my Pixel 4 for a few months now. I am debating going back to it. Just wish the battery life was a bit better.

You went from 4 to 5 and considering going back to 4?

I'd prefer overall higher end specs on the 5 and a larger screen but I'd bite at a good sale. My 3 is juist old at this point. 4 is a no go for me without fingerprint.

Rumors point to 6 being higher spec'd and larger.

Nah, I skipped the 5. I switched out my Pixel 4 for a "rugged" phone.

I like higher end specs, but I am not sure that I ever really take full advantage of those. I feel like at this point, specs as far as processors and RAM have reached the point that a phone doesn't really use them fully.

Also, at this point I want a smaller phone, but my eyes fail me. Maybe I should do away with phones altogether.

I am hoping a 5a or 6 is a worthy enough unit to upgrade to. Nothing wrong with my 3XL but I am a sucker for that sweet smelling new tech.

I have given up hope on a Pixel watch, Wear OS is still chit. Have a Venu SQ right now and it does the job.

What rugged phone? Do you need a rugged phone?

I don't "need" a rugged phone, but I prefer one. My Pixel 4 is great in that it is very durable. I also now prefer plain vanilla Android. However, I like a phone that I can drop without worrying about it breaking. I believe my Pixel 4 is good in this area. I have dropped it numerous times on pavement, and it is still in pristine condition. But for me, I prefer rugged devices as I am fairly hard on equipment. Some people like features like nice cameras, wireless charging, retina scanner, etc. The type of feature that I prefer is a phone that is built to take abuse and show no sign of wear.

I'm with ya, my 3XL is still great...but at times there's been some issues. 6 Pro looks awesome, i like how they are both bigger than the XL! More screen the better.

Price point will be interesting.

Anyone else HATE the inconsistency of Smart Lock?

I have it set up to stay unlocked if paired with my car or my watch. As I'm pulling up to the house at night I press a button on my steering wheel, say a phrase and the garage opens, whole house lights up through smart switches and IFTTT.

Except at times it doesn't, I get "Ok, but first you must unlock your device". If it responded through the car speakers it's facking connected so it should stay unlocked, same with me wearing the watch. I get a notification on my phone on how to set up Smart Lock, fack you. I've seen people complaining about this online but I can't find a fix. Funny how my Note 20U does this but I don't remember the S9+ doing it.

Yes sometimes. I have smart unlock setup when I'm home, in the car, connected to watch or buds live, and at work. It always works when I'm connected through BT (buds live, watch and car) but the GPS thing is the one acting up sometimes.

I recalibrated my GPS (doing that 8 shape thing) and it kind of resolved the issue.

I can't believe the 5a doesn't have wireless charging. I mean I get it's an affordable device but it's beyond me how wireless charging isn't a standard feature yet. I personally couldn't go to a phone without at this point.
