Hello! First off, I know I should go to the doctor but my insurance is garbage and I'm hoping the problem will eventually resolve itself. My period has always been fairly irregular (typically 40-45 days between cycles or more), but it has been 4 months now and my period has yet to resume. I am not pregnant. My breasts have hurt for over a month now and I ocassionally get an achy pain in my lower abdomen. Has anyone else had similiar menstrual problems? If so, what ended up being the cause for it?
Thanks for reading!

Hi missrach, A young girl I work with has been going through this as well just recently. She had not had a period for 4 months or so, went through the pregnancy testing with doctor, blood tests, ultrasound etc. All these showed nothing to be the cause.
All they could put it down to was change in oestrogen levels? Or stress related. Note: she already has 2 children.
I dont know if this is any help. Maybe you are stressed, run down?? How is your diet??“Better to be strong than pretty and useless.”

There are a whole host of why you have irregular periods (stress, pcos, cysts, dietary factors, problems with contraceptive method) and the best thing you can do is to go and see a gynaecologist or perhaps see someone at a sexual health clinic where they can actually look into matters more closely. Unless you have already been diagnosed with some pre-existing condition which causes or contributes to your lack of periods, then it's not normal and it would be wise to have it investigated.
There have been quite a few threads regarding similar issues, so maybe do a search too as they may contain some helpful info.

I don't envy you Americans at all sheesh all this insurance business before you can get health care needs sorting out in the US..
Anyway it could be anything we as women go through so many hormonal changes .. I was 2 weeks late for my cycle once and it may not seem like long but my cycles are regular 28 days every month without fail .. If you workout a lot it could be that apparently when you workout a lot it can mess up your cycleSlow progress is better than no progress
