    Fat in ground beef...

I normally get most of my fat from flax, fish oil, walnuts, avocados, and salmon.

I've been buying 96% lean ground beef and got to wondering. Is the fat in ground beef more on the healthy kind (like salmon) or unhealthy?

It is good for you. Contains some saturated fats and small amounts of cholesterol.

OP watch your total daily EPA and DHA consumption.

Perfect, I'll start buying the 85% lean beef rather than the 96% lean. I mean I can def fit the fat into my macros. I always just assumed that ground beef fat was unhealthy for some reason.

Actually excess saturated fat as well can lead to CV disease in the long run. The shape of the molecules allow them to stack more closely creating occlusion of blood vessels.

Please elaborate why trans fats are bad for you, and where you came to the assumption that beef did not contain any.

Man made industrial trans-fats are bad, ones found naturally in food are fine.
