It's time to take out phrases like "I can't" or "I don't have time" and replace them with phrases like "I will make the time" and "I will keep working at it until I find a way that works." I am feeling like **** right now. I just cannot get passed some things that originate from my past, like they haunt me to this day. When I was a young kid I walked in on a television show that showed something sexual, and then I copied what I saw on myself and it has been with me ever since. I was so young, I didn't even know what the fuk it was I saw. And when I get stressed like this I sometimes think about using, or reverting back to my eating disorder. I haven't used since July, when my grandfather died of cancer.

Lets put it this way. I'm being 100000% srs. I think I may be growing addicted or dependent on Marijuana. I smoke it around once a day, or whenever I get really stressed out. It's kind of like my get-a-way drug. Anytime I don't have any on me (Like right now) I get flustered and my mind starts shifting to the bad chit in life which leads me to getting quiet and depressed.

I can relate to how you feel. There was a period in time where weed was my getaway too and there were VERY few waking moments where I was sober and when I was, it was hell. I just couldnt take it. Looking back on it all though, it only made my situation worse.
Its not really the marijuana you are becoming addicted to, its the escape. You need to find another outlet, something to get your mind off of negative thoughts, and embrace it. Try to surround yourself with people who don't smoke.

I am not going to tell you what you should or shouldn't do, but I don't think it is advisable to show what some may consider the "positive" side effects of a drug. Some people have a legitimate problem and are not in control of their behavior, so putting a substance in a ray of light that shows it being beneficial could act as a trigger. Just something to think about, no harm done.

I do not think it appropriate to discuss the feelings that certain drugs give you, as it could be a trigger for some people. Think about it, just think about it for a second. If anyone has any questions about anything that they think may be too sensitive to post public, then please put it in a PM.

I'll PM you and the other guy the feeling.
But I'll tell you how it affected me openly.
1st was my mental health. I became very paranoid (still affects me to this day honestly), and scared of everything.
2nd my moral standard. There was none. I was a drug addict, all morals go out the window. I did things I would never do again, I hurt people in horrible ways I never wil forgive myself for.
3rd my mood. I was practically bipolar. Depending how much I was craving or the last time I got a hit. I could be happy if it wasn't that long ago. But if it was more than 6-10 hours ago, you didn't wanna be around me. And 12+ I was a mess. Typical movie junkie.
And lastly 4th my physical appearance. I dropped down to below 100lbs. One I was starting to get semi better I was 97lbs. But did drop below that before too at my worst. Not sure what I was at. But must've been like 90 or something.
My cheeks sunk in, my ribs showed and my legs literally were the size of my wrist. Literally. It was bone with skin covering it.
Had scratches and cuts up my arms from itching. My veins never popped due to good rotation, but as if now I do have scars from my track marks. A lot are gone. But some still remain. Just look like darker spots on my skin really.
Tl;dr Don't do heroin it destroys your body.
(Funny side note, I'm currently wearing the underwear I was wearing in that picture)Last edited by Jalexander1994; 10-10-2013 at 11:12 AM.

I have been clean for a few months but am depressed and just not happy, and am starting to think about using. I just cannot find happiness or order in my life no matter what I do, and the only time I am happy is when I'm in the gym. I have done things that could have killed me, and instead of being grateful that nothing did happen I crave those feelings I got from what I did. I feel like the only reason I get up is to get my workout in. Today is supposed to be a day off but I may go do chest and back just because I need to break my day up a bit....I am so tempted right now...

This bro. There is always some nostalgia looking back on things, people tend to forget the bad and remember the good, but you are better off now. Don't let a soulless substance take away everything you've worked so hard for.
Try to call a friend and go out when you feel like using, even if its just for a coffee and a chat.

I find my negative thoughts amplify when I'm alone more and I can push them away better if I have some good company. I'm struggling with depression right now too, I can't seem to find motivation to do the things I should be doing and I feel I'm not the same person I used to be. I feel like a stranger to myself a lot of the time.
Its kind of hard to describe but sometimes I want to go back too, I feel like I was happier back when I was using. When I think hard though, I know thats not the case, I was just numbed when I was high and when I wasn't I was absolutely miserable.

I was a user and had an ED at the same time. When I get stressed I sometimes think about the ED as a source of comfort, etc. I am tired of spinning out of control multiple times a week, why can't I just be normal? Ever since certain things have happened in my life I have been like this...

Been struggling with weed abuse for at least a year. Also did way too much lsd and molly this summer, started smoking cigs this summer but am trying to quit. Trying to quit everything right now. Ever since March of this year, I stopped going to class or really caring about anything, smoking multiple times a day, and generally super depressed whenever I'm alone or sober. Withdrew from classes last spring, went home, same habits all summer, came back for school this fall and did the same thing, didn't go to classes and got high and fkced around all day. Now I'm at college and I have to withdraw again, might not go back and just take some time off. Don't even know what I wanna' do in life anymore, lost passion for my major and for mostly everything but lifting. I feel like all I do is lift, it's almost the only time I leave the house anymore. Going to university counseling tomorrow to talk to someone and see if they prescribe me antidepressants or something, hoping that could help since depression/anxiety runs on my mom's side, and I take completely after her. Little sister and mom both diagnosed with depression/anxiety and on meds. I actually made a thread last night declaring that I was going to quit all drugs and pursue a completely healthy lifestyle, but I ended up taking a hit earlier and now I want more. =/
edit: also not a big drinker, but when I do go out and drink I usually go ham and get sick or blackout. Have 12 beers in the fridge and am tempted to drink at least halfon dat super saiyan motivation time since '02

In on this for sure. Learned a lot the past few years due to getting sent away / treatment. Glad I was one of the lucky ones who learned my lesson and got my head straightened out and focusing on getting my life back on track. I've messed with it all and unfortunately went downhill with something I shouldn't of, but its too late for regrets now, just gotta man back up and focus on myself. It's all about the strong mentality and confidence. Started with smoking weed and just escalated. I was sick of losing everything that I busted my ass for. My strength, my family, my money, and my girlfriend. Not worth it brahs, short term pleasure ain't worth whats ahead of you down the road. Any guys who are struggling, shoot me a PM.
