Cool fact about the RS2 is that Porsche designed its turbocharged 5 cylinder engine. They built the engine but then decided it was too fast and would eat into Porsche's market (remember this is before the Boxster or the Cayman). But even with the engine Porsche eventually gave the car, it was still a rocket. 0-60 in under 5 seconds.

another cool rs2 fact. It is one of very few cars that is "blacklisted" for importation in the USA. http://www.nhtsa.gov/cars/rules/impo...st07312007.htm
but if you wait until the year 2020 you can import a 1995 model(made more that year).

No...CTS-V wagon is bigger, heavier, RWD, 2x more cylinders, supercharged, not to mention at least $70k. 556hp/551tq SC'd push-rod V8 goodness.
STi HATCH is smaller, lighter, AWD, 2.5L turbo, at least $39k sticker price. 305hp/300tq EJ25-7 horizontally opposed pistons for maximum center of gravity.
Subaru is one of the few if not the only manufacturer to attribute most of their success in the USDM market via the station wagon. In Subaru's case, the most reliable AWD vehicles you can get.

Agree, being "blacklisted" with only a few other cars gives it some mystique. Only really thing I could really find on why it is on the list...
"1. The body/chassis was never crash tested here and the European bumpers don't meet U.S. standards.
2. The Porsche tuned engine was never emissions tested and approved here.
3. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has denied import requests for the RS2 in the past."
That's why 2020 is the magic year. 25 years is the cutoff for making a car pass u.s. safety and emissions.

My current project. is a 2004 Audi Allroad. She has some light work done to her but nothing close to finished.
My goal is to have it built to the same quality as the "BecauseBags" allroad.

Until you open the door and have to see how cheap the interior of a dodge magnum is, Even the SRT8 ones just have "poverty' written on the inside imo.
My audi even though she is now hittin 9yrs old has more comfort and refinement and I paid 4500.00 for her and have spent about 1500.00 on her since buying her in June."Many want to wear the beret, few want to carry the rucksack"
