I am starting this thread to archive available information about the Serious Lifting Bench by Powerblock. I took a snapshot of their webstore and tweaked a bit to show all information about this bench. I've also made a couple of bench images from the product pictures on their site for easy viewing.
I understood the Powerblock owner used to design equipment for Cybex and Parabody. Read the story below.
The bench is rated for 1,000 lbs. Built with 3" x 3" 11 ga square tubing and weighs 100 lbs.
It's 16.5" high, 56.5" long and 22" wide at the widest part.
It has 6 back pad positions and 2 seat positions and inclines at 30, 45, 60, 70 and 85 degrees.
It comes with front wheels and small back bottom part which is good for accommodating legs on the ground when benching.
It sells for $699.

Srs. . . .
You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

Wow, that has everything I like in a bench. It's low to the ground. I do a lot of dumbbell presses and getting them into position on a taller bench gets to be a pain. I love the ladder style supports, not a fan of the pop pins. I've had them freeze up and I've had them not hold before. I like that it hits 30 degrees on the incline. IMO this is ideal for incline presses. The lack of the true 90 degree isn't a big deal for me. I like that there's no contour to the bench, just straight angles. I like cross bench dumbbell pullovers and prefer a straight bench. My favorite feature is that there's no front feet sticking out past the bench. This really makes putting dumbbells into position much easier for me.
Now if I could just catch them on a going out of business liquidation sale I'd be set. I just don't think I could ever justify to myself spending $700 on a bench. Well I could to myself, but not to my wife.

Good points. I also like that this bench has a modern feel to it despite being old-schoolish in design. For some reason Panatta equipment come to mind.
Didn't know about your thread. My main purpose was to archive as much detail about this bench as possible. In case Powerblock stops making it.Harmonia Early Music: http://www.harmoniaearlymusic.org

I think the bench fits somewhere between the $600 Sorinex No Problem bench and the $949 Sorinex 0-90 bench

No worries. But what is the purpose of "archiving" when people rarely if ever actually do a search of the archives?
It's limited and some photos and links aren't always available but Internet Archive has some old versions of websites archived. For later use. This forum is like a storage tank. I know many users upload their images to sites like Flikr, etc and just embed pictures. I purposely upload pictures to the forum when doing reviews. Hate reading a review with pictures missing. I hope bb.com doesn't disappear.

I think the hooks are a step up over the tabs. The hooks are probably laser cut and should have closer tolerances than pieces of bent metal welded to a frame.
I'd bet the bench is rock solid. It's actually on my short list of benches but my actual purchase will probably depend on what's available on Craigslist.
Similar hooks are also used on the $949 Sorinex bench as well as other high end commercial benches such as Power-Lift and Hammer Strength.
