Well I've been training a long time. I guess about 14 years now. You really plateau natural, don't really make much strength or muscle size gains after a while. Despite what all the liars that claim natty and still use gear say.
My current split is work each muscle group once per week as such:
Monday - Back - 28 sets (if you include the 5 sets for lower back too)
Tuesday - Calves and abs - 12 sets of each
Wednesday - off
Thursday - Chest and Biceps - 12 sets chest, 9 sets biceps
Friday - Quads, Hams, Glutes - 13 sets quads, 10 sets ham/glutes combined
Saturday - Off
Sunday - Shoulders and Triceps - 18-21 sets shoulders, 10 sets triceps

Thanks bro, I can tell you my ab routine but I think it is irrelevant. The real reason my abs show is because of all the fat I lost.
But since you asked... I alternate what comes first and switch up the routine fairly often. Here is a sample though.
3x12 decline crunches
3x15 bicycles
3x14 ball crunches
3x12 captains chair leg raises

Thanks bro. I was on dat der dirty bulk full time before lol. I never know how I look to other people. So I am glad my physique is decent now.
Quads are about 26" in these pictures cold, maybe more pumped. I could give you my whole leg routine but to start I think leg extensions and hack squats are huge for leg development. Let me know if you want whole leg routine.
Arms were 18" in bulk and 17.25" cut no pump on either.
Well the cut took longer than I thought. Those pictures are about 9 months apart. I had never cut before and was naive to the facts. I experimented with many different cutting techniques during that time, which wasted lots of time. I could do the same cut again in 3 months or less.
Oh and definitely all girls Mirin hard now. It's crazy what getting cut will do.Last edited by tangerine_sky; 09-25-2013 at 07:09 AM. Reason: forgot to add arm measurement

Thanks man. I won't ever stop, 14 years strong and still lifting. I do need to bulk again, need to see how far I can push it natty. I want to be about 5-10 lbs bigger on next cut at same bf (if possible, wishful thinking for sure).
For chest I never go over 12 reps, like to stay in the 6-8 range for heavy sets. On everything else it really depends. I could write a whole article on my thoughts on rep range for certain exercises. But shoulders under 12 mostly. Calves 90 rep supersets lol on light day, 15-30 rep heavy day. Back less than 10 for most everything.
Legs it depends, I love to do pyramid on squats and on the last set do a massive 20 rep drop set from 315x8 down to 225 for as many as I can then down to 135 for as many as I can. Leg press I like to stay in the 14-20 rep range. Hams less than 12. Arms (bis, tris) less than 12, mostly 8-10.

So you are trying to reach your natural limits, right? That's exactly the same thing i want to do...but, will you give bicycles a try? Answer me in pvt if you don't want to make it public but I'd like to know cause I think we have the same goals (though you have way more experience I think).
Thanks man, great thread.

Thanks guys. Glad I finally made it. Now I need a new goal +5-10 lbs natty for next bulk/cut end result hopefully.
I have focused on gaining muscle pretty much my whole life but cutting was very new and hard for me at first. I had no idea what I was doing I'm embarrassed to say, no thanks to the mountains of misinformation online especially on the bb.com articles on nutrition...
I experimented with low fat, low carb, complex carb emphasis, low calorie, and worrying about meal timing with 6+ meals per day. At the end of all that, over a 1 year period I came to learn what most have on these forums recently, all that stuff is bull ****, IIFYM FTMFW.
For IIFYM I was on 140g carb, 72g fat, 240-250g protein on normal days. I would have a refeed once per week, with carbs up to 250-400g depending on how I felt, keeping fats down around 40-50g.
I think next cut I will increase carbs and decrease fats a tad, maybe decrease protein a bit too. Like 55+g fat 225+g protein. Not sure yet. Want to focus on bulk and think about cut later.
If you want to know the truth, I plan to ride bikes 1 day, but not until I am over 30 and lost my hair lol. Need hair as long as possible.
I will post an update when it happens, keep an eye out. Probably going to be about a year from now before I have completed the bulk/cut cycle I want a nice 8-9month bulk if possible to gain back the size and strength I lost and then some.
I appreciate it bro. You definitely look great yourself and are not far off from me. Keep at it, lift heavy and work on the mind-muscle connection. Mind-muscle and training my minds perception of pain is all I care about these days. Your going to make it bro. Good luck.Last edited by tangerine_sky; 09-25-2013 at 06:58 PM.
