I would risk it then for a player who can get a huge upside, like Avery if he is still a FA Alex smith is showing show much love to him atm, it may not last but with KSC offense going so well I would pick him up.
Also with Mike Glennon starting does anyone else think VJAX value will drop hugely, and also Mike Williams will go up havn't read through the other pages so sorry if already mentioned.
Glennon has arm strength but not elite, now Freeman wasn't great by any means of the imagination but VJAX was valued because freeman would risk the throw deep to him. Will Glennon I can't see it this season at least.
and mike Williams is a much better intermediate and short route runner than VJAX just lacks his handling skills I just can see Williams and martin getting more and more ball.
I may be horribly wrong though."Accept your fate. Or be destroyed by spectors of the past never to return"

I would go Gio and Martin but that's because MJD has screwed me so much this season, that he has to show something first before I put him back in.
And with gabber playing they prob won't even get in the end zone to have MJD run in a short yardage TD.
PMJD will get 2 TD and rush for 100 yards"Accept your fate. Or be destroyed by spectors of the past never to return"

Anybody picking up Andre Ellington as a bench stash? Mendenhall is already dinged up, Ellington is 4th on the team in targets with 12 as the rb2(.5 ppr league), he has 7 carries for 39 yards so far, and the OC said he thinks he can carry the load...there might be potential for a flex play by midseason, I think I'll drop mcgahee for him and see what happens

I disagree.
Rivers has outscored only one elite guy...and that elite guy was falling in drafts due to his situation (Brady).
In standard formats the top QB scorers after 3 weeks, in order, are:
1. Peyton Manning
2. Michael Vick
3. Aaron Rodgers
4. Drew Brees
5. Matthew Stafford
6. Phillip Rivers
There are 4 elite guys. Of those 4, 3 of them are above Rivers (Manning, Rodgers, Brees).

Well when it comes to scoring potential when you're in-season, it's kind of pointless to throw around the word "Elite" because now everything is fluid and a big game or two in three weeks, does not a successful season make.
You pretty much have to go back to a tiers mindset.
Basically SO FAR
The Elite Tier: Peyton Manning
Tier 1: Vick, A-Rod, Brees
Tier 2:Stafford, Ryan, RG3, Rivers, Bradford, Luck
In my mind if you have Any ONE of those top 10 QB's, you've got the snot to win the championship and energy should be put into shoring up shallower positions like RB and #1WR.6'4"

I'm starting CJ?K, and if I had Bilal I'd still start CJ?K
I'd start Rivers.
Well when it comes to quarterbacks and who is and is not elite, there is a total consensus that has been that way for years.
The 4 elite QB's are:
Brees
Rodgers
Manning
Brady
Those are the elite QB's.
And currently, on the season, 3/4 of them have outscored Rivers.
So, Rivers has not outscored most of the elites. Most of the elites have outscored Rivers.

Doesn't matter... Once the season starts "Elite" is up for grabs week by week.
A few years back Mike Vick was being called "Elite" then he got WHACKED and everyone has discounted him as elite because he's been injury prone.
So long as I have a QB who can win me a championship... Usually meaning he's in the top 10-12 by week 4-ish... Then my mental energy turns towards how to (Or if I can) improve my RB's and my potentially WR.
For instance...
A running back to look at grabbing... Kendall Hunter.
He's looking healthier each week, Gore has a history of being dinged and turns 30 this year.
If Gore misses some time... Hunter could fill in at a Flex. But the people who just look for the player with the highest stat line through 3 weeks will grab whatever that free agent is. But all too often it's the guy who grabs those off the radar players that emerge who get their name scratched on the trophy.6'4"

It's time for real talk, nainoa. And you have to realize this is at least as much REAL LIFE football as it is fantasy football...although it applies to fantasy football very, very well.
There are four consensus elite QB's.
They are Brees, Rodgers, Manning, and Brady.
Being an elite QB does not guarantee you will perform at a top-5 level every single week.
Not performing at a top 5 level some week doesn't mean you are not elite.
Performing at a top 5 level here and there doesn't mean you are elite.
Aaron Rodgers
Drew Brees
Peyton Manning
Tom Brady
Those four are THE elite QB's of our time. Plain and simple.
I sure as hell never called him elite, and nobody I personally know did, either.
That's great, but is beside the point of who is and is not an elite QB.
I only have an elite QB in 2 out of 10 leagues, I think. My main leagues I am starting Stafford, Stafford, and Romo.
I never said nor implied that an elite QB was necessary to win or even preferred to win.
I am simply saying that
Aaron Rodgers
Drew Brees
Peyton Manning
Tom Brady
Are the elite quarterbacks.
And 3/4 of them have outscored Rivers so far this season.
