    Whey protein - mental benefits

    Protein brah checking in.

Whey contains an extensive profile of amino acids.
Is it possible to optimise the absorbtion of these amino acids, making them readily available as neurotransmitters?

Tryptophan is the precursor to serotonin
Tyrosine is the precursor to Dopamine
Glutamine might create gaba (?) Is there another amino acid that can provide gaba?

This might be a complex subject, but is a vitamin b complex along with whey protein a good source for amino acids providing the neurotransmitters?

I know that niacin + tryptophan is supposed to provide serotonin pretty efficiently.
Serotonin being of big value in todays society concerning all the ssri being prescribed..

How do we benefit from tyrosine, gaba, tryptophan most efficiently - making them neurotransmitters?

Maybe they should be taken individually, and without food.

Is tryptophan a reliable source for serotonin?

    Cheers miscers

What it means is that you aren't lacking these amino acids in your diet and that exogenous supplementation with them might not yield the same benefits that those who do not consume them in such abundance might get i.e. the dopamine increase with tyrosine supplementation
