    !oouuuccchhhh!

A couple of the neigborhood kids were tossing around a Lacrosse ball next door this morning before going off to a summer league match, my 7 yo son asked if they would show him how to play "Sure" so he & I picked up a couple sticks; I was looking at my son asking him if he was ready, when one of the kids whipped the Lacrosse ball at me and absolutely nailed me in the nuts. I fell over like a cartoon character. I'm laying there saying "Oww, fukkk!" (I never usually swear). The kid said "Oh sorry! You're not wearing a cup? You gotta wear one for Lacrosse!"... When I regained myself a bit I said no- I wasn't wearing a cup, I had actually come out to play 4-Square or kick ball. I have a wicked bruise on my inner thigh & my boys still hurt. Had to explain why I used (as my son calls it) "the bad f-word" to my son & he also asked what a cup was, so I explained showed him my trusty old Banana cup from when I did basic Self Defense / MMA training years ago- he was impressed by the whole idea of a cup kept knocking it with his knuckles, thought it was funny & wants one! What a morning.

I'm cringing at the thought, Lacrosse balls are no joke.

OK! Feeling better today, nasty bruise.. My 7 yo. is still joking about it! Whenever something like this happens I think about 6th grade when a kid (John Wells) took a baseball to the nuts in gymclass & "ruptured a testicle "-- a gruesome phrase if ever there was one.

Don't know about the "lacrosse" thing. Ha ha! But just how are you doing after that arm injury? I seem to remember something pretty serious with a bicep? Something torn if I'm not mistaken. It sounded painful and long term! I trust that that is all behind you now.

Lacrosse balls are only slightly softer than a bowling ball. Years ago when I was playing, this kid was playing goalie and his cup had shifted.. you know what was next, a ruptured testicle. Which was removed that same day. We used to kid him from then on about being 1/2 nuts...

I had a ruptured Bicep re-attached March '11- I'm all better, just trying to regain some strength & a little loss mass...
