    Technically you have nothing to worry about because the car still has the warranty right? So even if there is an issue, if the engine goes, you're covered.

    And the case would be the same for me if i decided to go with the GT and that issue occured. But i'm OCD and i can NOT live with a car that has a strange noise that's not normal.

    The first mod i did to my LS2 GTO was long tubes. But with long tubes, you can hear the valvetrain, not sure if that happens on all cars but for LS's it does. So i was hearing the infamous sewing machine sound. I didn't like it. I thought something was going wrong. Everyone on the forum said it was normal, even with the stock manifolds but i didn't want to hear it. I ended up going with a cam, and getting new lifters, valve springs, valves etc. Not really for more power, it was to get rid of the sewing machine sound, the extra power was only a secondary necessity.

    The car sounded A LOT better, thanks to the cam, but i still had the sewing machine sound lol. Then i was like, yeah i guess it is normal haha.
    Schooling everyone that has to do with automotive one brah at a time. It's tiring but someone gotta do it lol

    They replaced the intake manifold to address the misfire CEL, tick is still there. Going to take it back in a few weeks.

    I didn't want to do it yet but I think I'm going to get the Rousch axle-back exhaust to drown out the pain. I can't stand that noise.

    Fukk me, was driving home on the freeway at night when a fukking FENCE POST and a bunch of trash went flying under my car at 80 mph

    I think my magneride suspension is fukked, theres damage under the car and one of my wheels is damaged, need to take it into the dealer tomorrow which is massively traumatic in itself.

    What a chitshow. I'd like to murder whichever pos loaded their truck like that

    No damage to the suspension or steering thank fukk

    2 wheels were damaged and my rear P4S had a bit of metal sticking out of it, luckily I have wheel and tire which just paid for itself

    On the downside the car just had its first service and 2and oil change and now seems to have developed BBQ tick

    While I can certainly understand your frustration at this point...

    My Gen1 had the BBQ tick for 75k miles before I slung a rod via Whipple...

    The new Gen 3 short block has the same tick with some gnarly piston slap and has made 975 to the tire and is currently living its best life at 850

    Annoying ...Yes... but doesn't seem to affect performance or longevity

    What oil does ford recommend??

    There are some 5.0 guys on youtube, i think alexandro flores is one of them that switched to a different oil and weight than what ford recommended and the tick went away. I stopped following his videos after ordering my scat pack (was only watching his vids because i was in the market for a 5.0 lol) so i don't know if the tick came back for him.

    The Ford oil changes are "free" because I got the basic package with brakes wipers etc along with the wheel and tire pack for a pretty good price.

    First time the oil was changed at the indie shop it didn't tick but now it's annoying as fukk lol


    I'm not worried about it since it doesnt seem to be a legit issue beyond the sound,but I was hoping mine would be immune. I guess it's time for ceratec?

    Ceratec didn't help mine but makes me feel a little better about abusing it like a red headed step child … lol

    I tried ceratec in my GTO when i first noticed the sewing machine sound. Changed oils, different weights. Nothing worked. Figured the valvetrain was on it's way out. Cammed it, new valve springs, rockers etc, same thing. If anything, it became louder. Then everyone at the meets said LS's are notorious for the sewing machine sound, especially the LS1 and LS2. I didn't notice it in my LS3 C6, that was also cammed, with LT's, etc. Man i miss that car. Sounded insane.

    Now with my C7Z, it's silent. Not even a blower noise

    It's a great tick.

    I bought a Roush Axle Back to drown out the sound and the tick only got progressively louder. Bumper to Bumper 36k is coming up soon, going to have them re-document it. Then again at 45k, and then again at 55k & 60k.

    Not sure if it's just where I'm sitting in the car that it's really obvious or if it's that loud outside of it but... it sucks.

    I had a 2013 Mustang GT that I paid off and sold. Great car. I had basic mods and E85.

    I had a 2018 Mustang GT that I sold after a year, because I thought I wanted an Audi RS3. I had no issues with the '18. I loved the A10 and the car was quick for me literally just putting an E85 PBD tune on it. Now that I have the RS3, I miss my '18. If I would have kept it, it would most likely be TT by now. I also did have the tick, but at 20,000 miles, the car ran well and never skipped a beat, so I never worried about the tick.

    I always had a plan to rebuild/ reacquire my old college car; 89 5.0

    It has Heads, Cam, Intake, exhaust, fuel, Paxton, gears, etc...





    I just picked this up a couple weeks ago. Could not pass it up. It's 85% complete with my vision.

    93 GT, with heads, cam, intake, exhaust, fuel, gears, etc...Garage kept, no rust, 46k original miles. All parts/labor documented in a binder.

    All it really needs is some standard maintenance, updating, and a Vortech.









    I have already added a new double-din stereo/speakers/sub, and replaced the console with a cup holder one, then added USBs. Also replaced the dash light bulbs with LEDs.
