Get at least 0.82g/lb of protein per lb of BW in per day and eat normally. Eat when your hungry. Eat sensibly with freedoms. Natty's have no business counting macros. It is insanity. This whole IIFYM and tracking macros fad has ruined my life for years. It's stupid and pointless. Your body will let you know when to eat more/less. Eat fiber, fruits, veggies, lean protein sources and enjoy life instead of logging into MFP wondering how many grams of carbs you have to shove down your throat at the end of the night because you were behind for the day.
BRB going to a restaurant and not worrying about "oh if I get that 6 oz. steak, I'll be over my fat macros by 2g"
Do you think the BB'er in the 1900-1960's pre-Schwinn era counted every little macronutrient they ate? No. They ate like men. Real hulky beautiful men with their giant fire hose dongs that would swing all over the place in the showers. Today some of us have trouble getting wood in the mornings because our fat intake is too low.. OHHHH but Alberto Nunez and Matt OGus told me to eat 25% of cals as fat!
Not everyone is the same! Not everyone can follow the same formulas!
We are men. Time to show it!!

I tend to agree for the most part. people worry too much about everything. lift heavy. set goals. eat a lot. get your protein in. get strong. enjoy life. I havce no idea exactly how many of anything i eat in a day but i know that if i suddenly stop gaining and can't get stronger i need to eat more. simple as that.
Squat 525, 495x5
DL 495x5
Bench 405x2 , 365x8, 335x11
Standing overhead presses 225x8
Seated shoulder presses 225x13

Our knowledge in nutrition has increased over the years. So if you don't want to eat using flexible dieting and track macros then don't. Just know that the people that do are after maximum results not half ass results like yours by eating when I feel like it and eating absolutely whatever I want without tracking macros.
Back in the day people ate 6 meals a day, all healthy and there were no substitutes, flexible dieting is just a lot easier. What your doing is neither, your just to lazy to to actually track the food your eating lol.

Yeah I ballpark like hell. I just make sure I'm eating enough volume, and with enough frequency, to remain satiated throughout the day, and I make sure to include some source of protein with each meal.
My body has learned over time exactly what it needs.. I gain a very steady and consistent .25-.5 pounds per week, every week.

buying a kitchen scale, weighing my food and keep track of calories was the bet thing ever
things i follow:
- keep track of overall calories, cutting on 3500 cals atm, if i listened to my gut i would have under eaten by a lot
- keep a rough count of protein, get 150+ grams
i think counting calories is good for those that have a clear goal, if you just eat by the way you feel it doesn't always work that way, some people just like to pig out and end up dreamer bulking, some people wanna go on a cut and eat too little so it's good to make sure you're eating enough.
