I'm open to anyone of any race who is of good quality. By that I mean someone who works hard at his job, is respectful, makes decisions using facts and logic, and is always trying to improve himself. I'd also highly prefer someone who lifts ;D But I guess that goes with self-improvement.

However, it would be great if he were familiar with some of my family's traditions, or if I were familiar with his. For this reason, I don't care nearly as much as I do about race as I do about ethnicity. Unfortunately, my parents are pretty old-fashioned and would not want me to date someone who they think is too dark skinned Welp, I don't care.

I'm not sure why so many people here seem to not care for black women. There are plenty of beautiful, successful black women! You just need to look for them.

When i was younger I met this Asian chic and we dated. She was fairly dark skin so against my whiteyness she looked really dark. Apparently my mom saw us together out shopping from behind. I never saw her.

She asks me to come over cause she needs to ask me something. Tells me she saw me and is concerned I'm dating a black girl. I troll her for about 20 minutes and ask her what does it matter?

Racism was strong when i told her she was actually Asian. The look of relief on her face.

I'm white. My dad is Italian and my mom is 50/50 Italian and Spanish, but her entire side of the family (at least, those we keep in contact with) lives in Brazil. She doesn't seem to have a problem with black people from her own country (after all, there are so many), but she doesn't seem to care much for African Americans, for some reason. My dad blames African Americans for ruining his former neighborhood that he first lived in when he moved to the US -_-

Meanwhile, my mom seems to at least be more welcoming of the idea of me dating an East Asian or South Asian man, or a Latino "as long as he is not too dark" (her words). I really don't see why it matters so much, but I think they would consider someone of Don Omar's color "too dark skinned":
