I have trails coming up in a little less then 6 weeks for Rugby Leauge on the 22 of September. I'm fairly confident I will make it through to the next round, and progress on after that.
Although just wondering what routine would be better suited for me now? No games or clubs training between now and then, as the season is over. I do 2-3 HIIT sessions with my coach a week. Usually Monday, Thursday, Friday.
Was thinking either a push/pull/legs routine for 6 days, then resting on the 7th day. First push/pull/legs would be strength then the next 3 days would be all about power and explosiveness.
Or
Simple 3 day full body workout. 2 strength, 1 power/explosiveness. Done on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
Slightly leaning towards 2 option, but would love to hear everyone's feedback!

At your age, choose one or the other. Not both. 6 Days per week is tough on a Push/Pull /Legs, anyway - especially with sprint work 3 days per week. Even bodybuilders tend to use a 3 on, one off for that type of routine.
If you're really keen to run a split workout, consider a 4 day upper/lower split like the WS4SB programs.
