Rolex bro's I recently bough a lot of Rolex boxes to resell and inside one of them was a 2 tone link, its one of the smaller links 16mm, is there anyway for sure to know which watch this comes from?, no ref number on the link. I'm guessing it's a 16803 or 16613.

Hey boys,
Just wanted to put my name out there since I've taken an interest in watch collecting as a hobby. After reading numerous pages I see that some of you are seeing these purchases as an investment. Whilst I respect that, I've also seen some that are collecting purely out of an appreciation for the art of horology.
I know these watches are poverty in comparison with the most of you old farts (no negs), but I'm certain my taste in watches will only get better with age.
I'm still young (19) and these two pieces are the initial contributions to my collection. (not my photos)
Citizen Nighthawk BJ7010-59E (Asian Version)
Didn't like the very apparent NIGHTHAWK label in the face in the US versions, and the case back is also engraved as opposed to the etched on the other Nighthawks
Bulova 96A101 RETURNED BRAND NEW, I'll save up for a better automatic to be my first.
My first automatic, even though it's a Japanese (Miyota) movement I'm already enamored by it. Will probably invest in a black leather strap for it. I'm going to reserve my first SS band watch for an Omega / Rolex
I also have a Timex Weekender as my beater watch but I might get shunned if I do anything more than mention it
This watch is my all-star favourite, I can only hope to wear it one day
Omega Seamaster Aqua Terra 2503.33

Because you deserve it, yushhh. You. Deserve. It.
Welcome to the thread!
I think someone in this thread actually just got one of these. Such a beautiful watch; I love blue hands/accents on a white face. If my heart weren't set on another, I would easily pursue this watch... Love that metallic blue.Last edited by kevin1645; 03-28-2014 at 02:18 AM.

On that budget I would stick to the microbrands. Great quality for the money, especially on the 2nd hand market. Sapphire glass and eta movts for under 500 is a steal.
Ocean7 (all Swiss made) , Armidas, Helson, Prometheus etc.
My O7 LM6 on stock rubber. This thing does not leave my wrist, note the semi battered SS vs the pristine sapphire. It's worth every penny.

It's beautiful, looking at the pictures - the gradient of the blue shade changes depending on the lighting and angle.
On the topic of blue hands and white faces, I've also been looking at Bauhaus style watches - minimalistic in it's appearance, and it strokes a cord in the aestheticist within me. Two that stand out to me are very similar.
Stowa Antea KS 41 Silver
I know it's a German brand, but if I recall correctly it houses Swiss movement
Nomos Glashütte Tangente 38
And this pretty little thing has a completely in-house movement I think

Fun fact: That wasn't a submariner. It was a gold Heuer Diver. Although the character he portrays did wear a Rolex, they had to change it to an 80's Heuer Diver for DiCaprio, who is a Tag Heuer brand ambassador. I own the same watch, although not in gold.
Here is the watch he wore in the movie.

Does anyone else get severe buyer's remorse on watches..?
I just spent 600~ on the two watches above and although I love them I just can't get over the fact that I just spent 600CAD on the Bulova and Citizen Nighthawk...
EDIT:
Listening to below, I returned the Bulova 96A106, although it was beautiful - I'll just wait and save up for a better debut to my collection of auto movementsLast edited by MartyrMoose; 03-29-2014 at 02:38 AM.
