Are women nearly as obsessed with sex as men?

I like to go into the general Misc. forum often and it seems to be all men. A lot of threads there are talking about hot women and sex. I think it's sadly hilarious how so many men seem to regress to the state of horny 14-year-old boys just from seeing a pair of (covered) boobs.

But are women like this too? (Well, they'd probably care about hot men instead of women, unless they are bisexual or lesbian.) I know I'm not, but then again I'm not like a lot of other women.

Then there's the books that are out now like 50 Shades & basically anything written by J.R.Ward....which is like porn for women....

I definitely feel like I think/want it more than I probably should, lol. And i enjoy it immensely. Hubs just really has a way of getting me going without doing anything and sexy time is always enjoyable and "ahem" productive. Otherwise I probably wouldn't be in the condition I am now!LOL

Of course there are exceptions to every rule, but you don't need to pop in to the female misc to ask this question. All you have to do is look at the market place. That will tell you everything you need to know. There is a reason why nearly all porn is marketed toward men, why scantily clad women dominate the movies, magazines, internet etc., and why men pay female hookers for sex, but you don't really see much of the reverse. In short, despite whatever answers you get in this thread, women are not as overtly sexual as men .... which makes sense from an evolutionary standpoint. The consequences for sex are much higher for women than they are for men -- 9 months of pregnancy and raising a kid, whereas for men, it is a few calories and (pessimistically) about 10 minutes of their time. Therefore, from a biological standpoint, it is in men's best interest to have sex with as many women as possible, and it is in women's best interest to be more selective about their sexual partners.

Certainly there are exceptions, and I am sure one could litter this thread with story after story of promiscuous women and abstinent men .... but in terms of general trends, no, women are not as "obsessed with sex" as are men.

i would think that *in general* (not as a rule) men have a higher sex drive than women, and that men and women view sex and express their sexuality in a different manner.

i actually never understood men's constant need to find naked women to look at, until my bf explained it to me as thus:
