Did some detailing work over the holiday breaks. First some rock chip repair, wet sand some spots, decontaminated with Iron-X, clay bar, then 3-step polish and applied Avalonking Armor Shield coating. Took about a week to complete, few hours each day.
(before applying Avalonking)

Don't hit at all if it is honorably possible to avoid hitting; but never hit softly.

Any of you detail brahs interested in a CG buffer? I literally used mine one time. It's still in the box. $90 shipped.

So I am no stranger to polishes and waxes. I've been buffing cars since the mid 90's and have used all the popular waxes, polishes, and sealants under the sun (minus ceramics).
I've always thought that for the money, the Meguiar's Gold Class was the best in terms of price/quality of shine/durability. Others are better at one or the other, but I've been mostly true to Meguiar's the last several years.
I ventured down the rabbit hole looking for something I hadn't tried before and came across no less than 10 bazillion people online recommending Collinite 845 Insulator Wax and for $20 I figured I would give it a shot.
I. Am. Blown. Away.
Pictures never, ever, EVER do it justice and the below is no exception. There hasn't been a ray of sunshine here in Central Ohio in days, and I can't wait until the sun finally come out to take a picture. But yesterday I washed, clay barred, polished with Meguair's Ultimate Polish on DA buffer, and used Collinite 845 sparingly with the DA buffer. I then let it cure inside my garage for an hour. Removal was a breeze, probably the easiest of any wax/sealant I've ever used.
The depth and richness this soul red crystal metallic paint gives off now is unmatched. I drove it around last night and ran some errands today so it's not 100% clean, but hopefully you get the idea.

LMAO
Bro, and by bro I mean not my bro, Soul Red by Mazda is one of the nicest paint on the road right now(minus the chipping). It's not the wax.
If you want to know whats a good wax, here's a website:

Thanks man. I've only had her 5 months and I've not noticed any abnormal chipping. I read about that problem AFTER I bought it but thankfully (knock on wood) I haven't experienced any such issues. I even bought touch up paint in preparation for it, but have only had to use it once on 2 microscopic chips.

As I’ve gotten older I’ve left behind tire shine.
I think a clean dry tire looks better when obviously paired with a clean wheels/barrels
Brown tires are a pet peeve srs. Luckily wise guy/cool guy combo and once a week washing Keeps my tires looking new
Plus I save money not buying tire shineLook, i know i don't really know you and all, and i know you probably hear this like everyday, but your just so perfect to me. The few hours we talked were really great even if the convo was stale, your really pretty and chill, and your country thats just perfect :'D i really dont know how to explain it, but i think i have feelings for you somehow. i never felt like this with someone i just met, but i felt the need to get it off my chest. sorry for being all weird just idk how to explain it D:

Been out of the detailing game for a good while. Moved into a house where my truck sits outside all the time and haven't really stayed on top of things. Trying to change that, and hint to my wife we need to extend our driveway and add a cover to it.
Cleaned up the sides of my Silverado yesterday. Pulled the Silverado name and the door trim pieces. Used an eraser wheel to remove most of the adhesive. You can see in my photo it's pretty good but not perfect. Going today to pick up a polisher and try my hand at paint correction. Seems easy enough for basic correction.

Well everything went OK. Couldn't get an after picture i was happy with and the color of this paint, basically a metallic gray, makes it more difficult too.
Picked up a Bauer DA polisher from harbor freight, an orange hex pad and some Chemical Guys VSS 1 step polish from Summit Racing.
Ran over with the clay bar, polished it, and applied some Mequiar's carnuba after. While the marks I was going after aren't completely gone, you won't really notice them unless you're looking. I'll give it a month and then go back at it with a more aggressive pad and compound.
But, overall it was a relatively easy process. Worst part was my arm getting tired of holding the polisher.Being anti-2nd Amendment is like saying "We have too many rights, please take some away!"
