    Arrow ***official auto detailing thread***

Here we discuss what products and equipment we use, what techniques we use, answer any questions people have and just talk about detailing in general. (and this can include RVs, motorcyles, planes, etc..)

If you have questions make sure you provide a detailed explanation or provide pictures...even then it can be hard to conclude what the problem could be without seeing it in person.

    Some products I use:
    Flex 3401 VRG
    Wheel Woolies
    Wool Wash Mitts
    Adam's Americana Paste Wax
    MF cutting/polishing pads
    And many many more...

I always try to buy and test products when I can, but have settled on a handful of some.

    Some random pictures I have...

Just bought AMMO's Wheel regimen a few weeks ago and love it.

This stuff is a joke and a rip-off service done at dealers only. Only car dealers get their hands on this stuff.

One of the many ways to clean dirty wheels.

    GO!

A wax isn't a cleaner, so you start with the simplest method first...quick detailer/waterless wash/all purpose cleaner diluted/white vinegar . Next is claying and then after that polishing by hand or a machine

I bought one of these kits and have used it several times:

    http://www.zainostore.com/Merchant2/...roduct_Count=3

If you do it right and seal it, you'll make your life much easier. It's quite a bit of work the first time, a good day to day and a half depending.

The funny thing is I have never used their products, but have heard nothing but good things about them. That's a solid price for that kit.

Get back out there!! Tons of new pad options. They now make microfiber cutting and polishing pads...making Rotaries more and more obsolete.

Right now I am using Adam's Leather and Interior cleaner and their conditioner. It kind of depends on the sheen you want your seats to have. I like Chemical Guys' and Pinnacle as well. Lexol gets good reviews and I believe you can get it at auto parts store. Never used it though.

Yeah some of this stuff takes 8+hours...I have spent 16 hours on bad paint/dirty interior, but that included everything inside and out, plus protection. This was before some of the nice MF pads that are out now.

If you're starting fresh and plan on waxing/sealing/using semi-perm products...or commonly called LSPs (Last Step Products), then this is the process:

    1. Strip Wash but don't dry; sheet rinse
    2. Decon spray/iron out
    3. Rinse or wash again depending on your OCD level
    4. Clay
    5. Polish + IPA wi****wn
    6. Seal
    7. Glaze
    8. Wax

Some are optional and some you can "tweak"

Would be awesome. There are a lot of success stories out there and would just be plain fun. Being a distributor of products sounds awesome too. One day man...one day.

    No detailing bros?

I guess I will just talk to myself.

A quick tip: for anyone that likes to do interiors of cars or does them a decent amount of times then invest in a steam cleaner. You can find good ones for around $100-200. You can even use them on exterior parts or the engine. Use it around the house as well.

Don't know a thing about detailing except that you should buy good products. Any starter kits that you would recommend that don't cost a fortune?
